The hot springs that is difficult to find and with a name very difficult to spell. Go there - it is wonderful. There are so many different pools to choose from - for children, for adults, romantic spots, massage pools, all in high standard and high hygiene. There is even a huge fish spa where you can get massage from fish.
Useful to know is:
It's open until almost midnight and at night the efficient lightning of scenery makes it particularly romantic. It is a superb destination for couples, but nevertheless also for families.
You can go here even on a rainy day! The resort itself is built like a proper rainforest with palms and banana trees which provides a lot of shelter but also there are hundreds of umbrellas all over the resort for free use.
The entire resort has proper signs in both English and Chinese (this resort is operated by a Singapore company).
The pools range from 4 degrees to 42 degrees in temperature so you can rest assured to find your perfect choice. The hot spring itself keeps above 80 degrees so the inlets to many pools are dangerously hot - but there are useful caution signs in English.
The best price is to book online in advance. However, the english language version of the website's online store is not operation. You will need chinese language assistance in order to make an online purchase. However, this can give you a good package price for entrance and buffet dinner, or entrance with massage treatments.
Even if you pay at the entrance the friendly staff can offer you special deals if you enquire. Much appreciated.
You do not actually pay at the entrance because the entire resort has a system of bracelets that all your purchases are recorded to, and you pay on exit. The resort accepts international credit cards.
The hot springs resort is quite compact and outside of it there are no areas suitable for visitors, so your trip should be to the hot springs resort and/or to its adjacent hotel.
As of now 2015 the pedestrian walkway across a busy highway connecting the hotel and the hot springs resort is not in operation, so there is a longer walk involved - or take the shuttle bus.
There are shuttle buses to/from Xiamen Port (ferry terminal/bus station) and Xiamen North train station. Refer to the website for timetables, but its recommended to call in advance to make a reservation.
The system with bracelets together with free use and replace of towels and slippers makes it simple to pack: The only things you need to bring are swimwear, swimming cap (required for the swimming pools but not the hot springs pools), your credit card and a 1 yuan coin for the valuables locker. The resort even provides hairdryers, body lotion and free hair brushes.
All in all a perfect retreat for all visitors to Xiamen! Even when its raining.

Dec 2013 • Friends
This was pure bliss and much needed to recharge the body (from the walking up Nanputuo Temple and trek around Gulangyu Island).
If you come to Xiamen, do not miss this.
This should really be higher on the attraction list in Xiamen as it beats the other places hands down.
Tips:
- If possible get a Chinese friend/local to purchase the tickets on Taobao (an online market) which has reduced prices. Not sure if there were cheaper deals but I paid RMB 238 per ticket which included the return shuttle bus (normally RMB 30), entrance fee and buffet dinner (normally RMB 138)
- Even if you do not manage to buy this on taobao, still try and take the shuttle bus to the resort as the ride is around 40mins and will cost at least RMB 100 each way (I'm guessing but was told it was around RMB 150 - 200). Regardless, the shuttle bus is cheap and convenient
- Shuttle Bus is on the same side of the road as Lundu Ferry Pier (about 50m further up). Best landmark which others have mentioned is the two tall buildings on the other side of the road, one is CCB (China Construction Bank) with a big CCB sign at the top and the next one along is brownish in colour (no sign that I could see at the top) with ABC (Agricultural Bank of China) branch at the bottom.
- If you get a bus here (various buses from my hotel - Tegoo Hotel, next to Millennium Harbour View Hotel) you can get off at the ferry stop. Walk towards the two buildings above (you can't miss them as they are the tallest buildings around) and you will see an underpassage to go opposite the road. The shuttle bus leaves every hour on the hour and is gold in colour - Riyuegu Hotel Resorts is on the side. Just in case, it will be parked outside a seafood restaurant called "Lucky Full City Seafood Ltd".
- Either show the SMS to verify the bus is included in your deal or pay (I assume it is RMB 30 as everyone has said this)
- Once you get there, just try out all the springs, pools and saunas - if you want to splash out/pay extra try the fish spa and the various spas/massages. You are given a bracelet that acts as your credit - you swipe your bracelet to pay for food, massages etc
- Bring swimming costume and cap (you will need to wear a cap in a number of pools/springs)
- Bring a waterproof zip bag (to carry your valuables) - otherwise, use the lockers
- On leaving, your total cost is calculated from your bracelet - they will give you a card to exit the resort as well as a pass for the shuttle bus back to town
Positives:
- Very professional throughout (from boarding the shuttle bus, arriving at reception and leaving the resort) - I speak ok Chinese so I'm not sure the staffs level of English
- Clean: I was actually surprised had well kept this was
- Free fruit (10am - 12pm) - didn't try as went to the Moonlight Pavilion restaurant to have breakfast as I was starving - food was okay and not expensive
- The hot springs/pools - had various pools with different 'ingredients' from beer, wine, lavender, roses etc - just try them all!
- Very good buffet dinner - fresh seafood (oysters and prawns), good selection of Chinese food and also had turkey and roast pork (not sure the norm but I guess as it was Christmas)
- Safe for the whole family, young and old
Negatives:
- Gowns require a fee of RMB 10 (whole day) - it was cold and the towels were not abundant (you had to go back to the changing rooms to replace your wet towels)
- Can see this place getting very crowded on weekends (I went on a Tuesday - Christmas Eve so it was not busy)
- A few guys were smoking in public areas (I didn't see any No Smoking signs so I didn't complain) but I guess expected in China. It didn't ruin the day at all so not a big issue - would be if more people were doing it though
Overall:
100% would go again if ever I go to Xiamen. I spent over 8hrs at the resort and enjoyed every minute. Not to be missed.

First of all lets clear one thing up: This place is not called the Riyuegu Aquatic Park. I don't know how Trip Advisor could get this wrong. It's the Riyuegu Hotsprings Resort. You can go to riyuegu.com to see for yourself. Simply scroll to the bottom of the page.
This review is for someone who is already familiar with the pitfalls of Chinese culture. If you aren't used to rowdy kids who yell all the time, men smoking every chance they get, and men and women constantly spitting, I would say you might not enjoy this spa as much as I did -- because all of the above happen all the time pretty much everywhere in China, and a hot springs resort here or anywhere is no different.
Ok the resort itself is fairly expensive unless you are ok with attending the resort when its 40 degrees outside in the heat of the summer. That time of year they are begging people to attend. But this time of year, its much different.
Likes: The spa itself is very creative in both its design and ergonomic flow compared to many of the hot springs I have been too (mostly in the US where I am from). 25 or so recipes make up the various pools. Everything from coffee to beer is presented here. There are free tea stations everywhere and it's bottomless. Not once was a tea station out of tea. And your choices included black, green, ginger and just hot water. Two huge pools are also present (but are mostly empty this time of year); so if you like to swim now is a perfect time to attend. Unlike most Chinese spas, this one is entirely co-ed. So bring your own swimsuit. The lockers are well appointed with electronic locks on a wristband they give you. (This wrist band also acts as your tally. You can order food with it, do a spa package -- an just settle up at the end of the day. Towels are plush and comfortable and renting a robe is only 10rmb. There are also free hot stone beds and even a sand therapy station for a 15rmb fee (both can be used for an unlimited amount of time).
Dislikes: 1) The sauna is way too cold to be a sauna. The Chinese don't get behind saunas like what most Eastern Europeans do -- so if you're looking for a great sauna or steam room -- this isn't your place. 2) Very few cold water pools or shower nozzles. If you are someone who enjoys the 'therapy' of hot springs then you will likely be like me in that you enjoy a nice cool down everytime your body temperature raises beyond comfortable levels beyond a period of time. Well as far as I could tell there were only 2 places one could get cold water. One is a cold water pool near the tea pools, and the other was a chill room near the saunas. A top notch hot springs will have shower nozzles everywhere to let interested people cool down rapidly. 3) With as many pools as they have it sure would be nice if they would designate certain areas to be off limits to children. Perhaps the ones that promote alcohol for starters. 4) Smoking is huuuuge problem when you can smoke just about anywhere in a place where you go to relax and take in a relaxed and non-polluted atmosphere. 5) Restaurant is deplorable for it being a part of a 5 star hotel -- and also expensive. Bring lots of food with and hope it will be enough.
Xiamen as a whole is a developing city with not a ton to do. The HotSprings is an absolute must for any traveler to this area.

During our last day in Xiamen, I brought my family to Riyuegu as I heard that this is the best Hotspring resort there. Unfortunately the morning before we reached the hotel, we had food poisoning in Xiamen and the symptoms started developing when we reached the hotel. My daughter, wife and myself started to vomit and had bad diarrhea. At 10pm, I called the front desk to send us to the hospital.
Mr Tu (涂) who is the assistant front desk manager accompanied us to the hospital. As we are foreigners there, he helped to do everything possible to make sure we receive proper care and attention.
Even after we left the hotel, he continued to send text messages to check if we are ok and only when we reached Singapore did he stop.
Falling ill is the last thing a traveler wants to be faced with in a foreign land but I am very grateful that there is a person like Mr Tu who really took care of us like a friend (even as a family member). Some things are felt and we can feel his sincere concern and it is not about just doing his job as a hotel staff.
I would like to compliment Mr Tu and hope that the hotel management will take note of this extraordinary act of kindness that he has showers on a family in distress. This type of hospitality is world class and it is people like Mr Tu who will bring China to the next level of progress. Thank you!

We booked our tickets for the hot springs on Taobao.com. We paid RMB126 which included entry to the resort and entry to the fish pool. I think it is a bit more expensive if you buy tickets at the gate. We took the resort shuttle bus from the Lundu ferry terminal which leaves on the hour every hour. A return bus ticket (bought on the bus) costs a further RMB20. The bus leaves outside the ferry terminal on the opposite side of the road to the very tall Chinese Construction Bank (CCB) tower about 50 metres down from the main Gulangyu ferry terminal. The bus ride takes about 40 min. The resort has large clean dressing rooms. You are provided with a towel and slippers and you can hire a robe for a further RMB10. You can't exchange the robe for a dry one but you can get as many new towels as you want. Remember to bring a swimming cap if you want to go into the spa pool or swimming pool. It isn't necessary to wear one for the small hot spring pools. There are around 30 different small pools, some with flowers, other with tea, coffee, fruit etc. We went on a weekday when the resort wasn't too busy so we mostly had each pool to ourselves. The grounds surrounding the pools are pretty and the whole resort feels very pleasant. We didn't have any treatments but they did seem reasonably priced. There are hot stones which are very relaxing to lie on. We went in the fish pools. There are three different sizes of fish, very small (c.1cm), small (c. 2cm) and medium (c. 5cm). Being attacked by a lot of 5cm long fish wasn't for me but others seemed to enjoy it! Free fruit and soft drinks are provided on the second floor of the restaurant at several times each day. We went at 14.30 and ate a lot of watermelon, oranges and huolongguo. We also ate some food in the restaurant which was nice and not that expensive. We caught the shuttle bus back at 6pm but it runs until midnight. Overall we had a very relaxing and fun day and would highly recommend to others with some free time in Xiamen. Finally if you are interested the bus trip to the resort takes you over the Xiamen bridge which I see is listed as an attraction in its own right. However it is just a large bridge.

This place is great, about 50-60 hot springs, each one a different scent. Also there is a area that has an oxogen room, ice room, steam room and sauna. Think for the entry price of around 350 rmb you get a massage as well. The food here wasn't very good. There is also a large leisure swimming pool with some basketball nets, volley ball net and swim up bar.

Worth going to for half day trip, around 45 mins from Le Meridian hotel. Lots of different types of hot springs in an out door Bali-esque setting. Rent a robe for $10 rmb. Lots of free drink stations dotted around with adequate resting areas. Some pools are around ~40 degrees C. Favorite hot spring was ginger. and yellow rice wine!
Buffet lunch was perhaps below average, but needed the convenience given the place was quite isolated from the main city.
Relaxing.

I went to Riyuegun by myself and would love to have gone with a partner as I think it's very romantic. It's perfect to escape the crowds and while it does cost a bit (¥250 give or take) it was so worth it. It's a beautiful, clean, not too busy place where you can spend hours. I got the full body massage (extra ¥160) and I still right it was worth it. I found it tough to find and ended up getting there by asking the locals and taking the local bus. There is a shuttle from the one ferry terminal but there are a few ferry terminals. One of my photos has the shuttle info. The springs are open til late and you can really make the most of your time and money. Above the food hall is free fruit which people don't know about. Really was a lovely and relaxing time...

I was not sure to expect of a hot-spring in xiamen. This one is the first and only hot-spring i have visited in China, but i was pleasantly surprised. It is a very nice accommodation. Its quite a drive and taxi's will probably not bring you there, and if they would there would not be a taxi back. But if i you are looking for a relaxing, clean, and nice outdoor activity this is the one.

The variety of hot spring pools to try is enough to keep you busy all day. Hot pools, cold pools, scented pools, 2 large actual swimming pools, sauna, steam room, hot spring waterfall, and amazing restaurants). The guests appeared to be 100% Chinese and while normally very reserved everyone was in bikini's, except for a few in underwear and even one couple sporting nearly naked thongs. lol, very cute and refreshing to see modern style. This resort is a must visit if you are in the area. Just beware: if you are leaving around supper time when most others are leaving, there is a check-out line to wait in before you can leave!

This resort keeps coming up in my search for a resort with childcare. On the website it says there is babysitting for an extra fee, but direct correspondence the have said no baby sitting. Not sure with the language barrier which is wrong, the website, or whoever has responded to my email. Wondering if anyone has personal experience with the childcare here

Are there any hot springs that are family-friendly?
Travelling with a 2 & 4 year old.
Written 6 September 2017
Only few areas in the hot springs are child friendly esp for age 2-4. The springs they have are quite deep for a 2 year old therefore you need to supervise your kid most of the time and I agree with Ronnie some temperatures are quite hot for children.
This hotspring is good for couples, families that have kids that are around 6 years up and group of friends.

My family and I will have the privilege to vistt Xiamen for 1 day (19th June 2016) while on a cruise vacation and would like to make the most of our visit with a stop at the springs. My husbond and I will be traveling with a 16 and 18 year old teens. We would like to include a car for hire to and from the springs. Please tell me if this is possiable to arrange with you and the cost of this adventure.
