The streets there were not very clean,but I do like the food there.Also enjoy reading books in the Xinhua Bookstore.

If you love shopping this is the place to go. It has every brand you can think of. If your a shopaholic I don't think you will be able to visit all shops in one day

if you stay away from big name brands, then yes. is really cheap. I did all my souvenir shopping for 20+ people with only 300 yuan.

I assume that your layover is during the day. I would highly suggest Gulangyu island. It may require a little preparation in terms of getting tickets, and if you don't mind crowds, it's worth a visit. I think it's the best... More

Most are fixed price shops. No bargaining allowed. Some shops does have some perks if you buy more than a certain quantity or $.
