This museum is close to the port, easily walkable, and is 2000 Chilean pesos or about $4.50 USD. There is a short film telling the story of the Antarctica expedition in which the ship sank and the crew lived in Antarctica for a year awaiting...More

As history buff and former US Navy sailor I enjoyed the collection. Displays were well labeled and interesting. Of particular interest was the war with Peru though with a battle lost but a war won.

They had a video showing footage from Shackleton's trip and other helpful information to give a visitor a concept of it all. Also nice naval models. About a 30 to 45 minute visit is adequate

Well worth a 1hr stop. Numerous exhibits showing the Naval history of Chile in the area. Very interesting and informative. The sheer number of wrecks surprised me.

Many small rooms filled with memorabilia of all kind as well as a replica radio room and weather station. We enjoyed our visit. If you cannot read Spanish, cards are available at the cash desk with a partial English translation.

A wonderfull maritime collection. An entire room devoted to the many lighthouses in the area and a wonderful exhibition on the rescue of the Shackleton crew from Elephant Island. They are justifiably very proud of the local boy who probably saved their lives.

This is an average naval museum with replicas, naval weaponry and equipment and navigational aids. But the most interesting part is an exhibition on the second floor showing the adventures of an english expedition which failed miserably and suffered a lot while trying to reach...More
