Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is my favorite place to go in the area. Beautiful black sand beach with a rocky sea. It is fun to walk around and explore. Not a great place to swim but I rarely get in the water anywhere around here as it is always cold. Waves always seem big too. Maybe good for surfing. I have been many times. We always take our visitors here. The museum is interesting too.

Let me begin by saying that the road to this place is just one huge pothole after another, but once you arrive, it is well worth the effort. The museum was small but interesting as it has items from all over the world, but what made it worth it is the views of where the river meet the ocean! The black sand and cliffs were absolutely breathtaking. The water is very cold, but I wasn’t there to get in. It’s a beautiful place to spend an hour, an afternoon, or a day. I really wish I had had more time!

We drove to the Museum - there is a fee to drive into the Park. The Museum is an interesting collection of what a world traveler around end of the 19th century might collect from different countries around the world, including your home country. There is no charge for visiting the musuem, backpacks are not allowed in the museum, and they have a nifty way to safely store them while you browse. The gardens are an interesting walk through with many different plant species, and you have some lovely views towards the coast. There was a small food concession near the parking (we did not purchase anything). But... once you finish the museum, head down to the shore, water, sand, and birds. The road down to the beach is gravel, good road for careful drivers. Sit at the beach for awhile - we saw many different species, including the whimbrel, and a large flock of Peruvian pelicans. The hiking paths are along the road to the beach. Beware when parking down by the beach - a friend got their car stuck in the sand, stay on the hard packed road.

Perfect place for an afternoon walk, and great location for the sunset over the pacific.
We took a taxi from the city to the Museum, and payed $7000 Pesus. From the museum to the beach is like 3 km, but it's also very easy to get a ride with some of the locals - Everybody is nice a helpfull!

Dramatic scenery on the coast with black sand and rocks jutting out of the sea, and where the sea meets the Bio Bio river. I also enjoyed visiting the quirky museum full of artefacts brought back by Pedro del Rio from his voyages around the world in the late 19th century.

Beautiful landscapes like a (pirate) cave, beaches, endemic fauna and flora, a cave, and a museum are part of this private reservation.

It is such a mystic and wonderful place with low attendance, a lot of space and wild nature. I real paradise for calming down and enjoying a fantastic scenery. There is no infrastructural equipment so if you wish to have a picknick there, you need to bring your own dishes and equipment (which is very charming). Horserides are possible.

My wife and I spent a full day at the museum and nearby beach.
We started with a visit to the Museum. We took a cab to the location, which is a about 15 minutes from downtown (cab driver had no problems taking us and offered to pick us up on the afternoon too).
The Museum is primarily a collection of objects Pedro Del Rio Zanartu collected during his travels. They include pottery, toys, clothing, stonework, coins, weapons, and just about anything else, all labeled and on display. It also includes a mummy with canopic jars, which presumably is being well cared for. The collection was interesting in its scope and variety, and staff were happy to explain about the Museum and the original collector.
After the Museum we took a tour through the gardens, which were nicely arranged and spent time watching hummingbirds and lizards. There is also a hedge maze with an excellent lookout facing Concepción, and a whale skeleton on display. There are also free bathrooms at the museum, and none that we saw at the beach later on, so keep that in mind (Note; likely were bathrooms at the beach we didn't see, check the structure with the water tank on the roof on the right as you come to the beach).
After the gardens we made our way to the beach at the mouth of the BioBio River. We went on foot, which is about 3 km on a dirt road, so be prepared for a walk if you go that route. The river mouth before the beach is worth checking out too. The beach itself is impressive, with cliffs and tall rocks, and a sand beach separating ocean and river. When we arrived at the beach (2 PM on a Sunday), there were a dozen groups having picnics but still plenty of space; by the time we left (6PM) there were considerably more, and more people arriving all the time. There were also vendors that showed up at the beach for food and drinks.
This was an excellent relaxing day at the beach, in a scenic location, and one we would definitely recommend.

It is a very nice place to visit if you go by car they will charge an entry about 2,500 CLP, once inside the park there is a museum and a number of trails for hiking, you can also reach the various beaches and the river Bio-Bio, highly recommended
