When visiting this place, it’s a good idea to get the guide from the veteran if available. I’m not sure I would’ve had the same experience without him telling his story. We all know the horrors of war but it’s much more poignant hearing it from someone who was there and actually hearing how even though it’s ended it’s still impacting civilian lives. Walking around the museum we could see the remnants of the war, but without someone there explaining them I would’ve just seen them as rusting tanks etc.

A bit far from the city, but worth checking out if you are interested in military history. It is a quiet place with several exhibits on display - missiles, armored vehicles, one helicopter, etc. There are some descriptions, but a guide would have helped even more, I heard sometimes one is available. We would really recommend a visit to this museum. It was only a 15 minute drive in a TukTuk from our hostel, so not out of the way whatsoever. The entrance is only 5 dollars. We asked at the entrance desk about a tour guide and we were directed to Sinath, who is a war veteran. This was the highlight of the visit for us as he shares his personal experiences and was very knowledgeable. We also enjoyed looking around the weapons and machinery used during the war. The museum is mostly outside and the machines are quite rusted as mentioned in other reviews but we felt this didn’t negatively impact our experience. There is also a building at the back of the museum that contains a lot of information to read including more personal stories about landline victims. We spent around an hour at the museum. Overall, a very worthwhile thing to do while in Siem Reap.

Great compact museum with plenty of armoured vehicles and artillery pieces. Also haas a display of weapons and anti personnel mines. $5 USD to enter, tour guide who was ex military with plenty of war experience and story’s will take you around. I tipped $3 well worth the money.

This is a must do visit, the museum itself is very good but mostly battle damaged Russian equipment. The display at the back of the museum is fascinating and helps explain the minefield catastrophe. PLEASE do get a guide (donation/tip), their experiences of living through the 1965 - 1999 period are fascinating and horrifying at the same time. These guides are the living museum and their stories need to be told and heard.
