This was my third time in Siem Reap, I wish i had of brought my children here before now. What an educational experience for them. They guide (donation) was excellent although a little eccentric, however he explained everything very well and we all enjoyed our visit both young and old

Visiting here will not be similar to visiting a large, air-conditioned, modern museum, but it's better! They offer free guided tours after you purchase an entrance ticket, and I would recommend doing this rather than only walking around on your own (you can walk around on your own after the tour should you want to!) We received a tour from... More

Learning of the very recent atrocities of the Cambodian leadership is a must if you are visiting Siem Reip. The visit was an eye opener of how cruel humans can get to promote their agenda. Make sure you take a free guided tour to get an informative view of the museum. A small donation will go a long way for... More

A truly poignant piece of history, Cambodia society has effectively been at war for a hundred years. I cannot imagine what that does to a society. The atrocities that were carried out by the Khmer Rouge make you wonder how normal people can be indoctrinated into carrying out torture and killing on fellow human beings. Reading through the information reminded... More

A real eye opener into what happened during the pol pot era. Met Moun Sinath ( the cat - you'll find out during the tour why that's his nickname) at the front gate and he showed us around and told us a lot about his time during the war and the war in general. Very honourable man !! I was... More

I am so glad I toured this place. I couldn't find a guide, but walked around solo. Very interesting place. Brought me to tears thinking about what they went through. Great place to spend an hour! There are very sweet cats who like to sun bath on the tankers :)

Came here last week (16th Feb) with my girlfriend and my parents (who both worked on the Thai-Cambodian border at the refugee camps during the war). I wanted to come here to obtain more knowledge on this haunting period in Cambodia's history. I also thought it would be a chance for my parents to share their story as we walked... More

There was no charge for the tour guide at the war museum, but after his interesting and informative tour we had no hesitation in giving a donation to the museum. The guide told us of his parents' experience under the rule of the Khmer Rouge and we learnt a lot about Cambodia's recent history. There are many weapons, land mines,... More

Do not expect The Imperial War museum, This is a collection in the open air of rusting relics from Cambodia,s War torn past. The entrance fee is $5 per person and the museum is a short Tuk Tuk ride from Siem Reap town center. You get a very informative guided tour and all in all interesting hour spent. There is... More
