Everything has already been said. It's a bucket list must see. Sunrise is amazing. Excellent conditions. Can be very busy and frustration with tourists. 20$ for 1 day 40$ for 3 days. Get a tuk tuk and go from sight to sight.

I visited Angkor Wat in January 2017. It is a truly remarkable place. We went early to see the sunrise from there which is meant to be amazing. Unfortunately it was a cloudy day, and not spectacular, but was still thrilled to be there. The atmosphere is amazing. Can get very busy. Remember your shoulders must be covered, and no... More

What can you say about an amazing part of history that is still the largest practicing religious structure in the world. Get a guide as they can tell you about the history of the temples and carvings ect. They also help you navigate the crowds of tourists finding quite spots. Wear sneakers or good climbing shoes as there are many... More

Our sunrise was overcast so no colours, but it was still magical seeing it gradually appear in the light! Up close the detailing was fantastic and so interesting to walk through learning about the history.

We went for 2 whole days and struggled to see everything siem reap had to offer - We managed to see a lot of the temples but had very long days - would strongly recommend 3 whole days if you have time on your side. Also our tour guide had terrible English which was a demoralising expense - I'd strongly... More

2 days is not enough for this complex. It is such a huge area of 45 square kilometers which has nearly 600 contruction works dated from 8th century. This is typical culture and architecture of the Khmer people, thanked to the skilful of local artisants. I saw it a lot on the movies but being here is so terrific.

Angkor Wat was a bit of a disappointment. It's big. Very big. It's big in the way the pyramids are big. One stone on top of anotherstone. The builders had not discovered the arch and this precludes any architectural brilliance. It lacks the architectural brilliance of the Colliseum, of a Notre Dame, or the Blue Mosque. But it is big.

If you are in the area you MUST visit Angkor Wat. Fabulous trip and full of history and great sights. We went to watch the sun rise which was perfect and a lovely experience. I would highly recommend that you do so too. Either watch the sun rise or sunset. This does pull in the crowds so I would suggest... More

There are no superlatives adequate enough to describe Angkor Wat and the temples on the region. All the tour guides say to stay for 3 days or more and that's clearly what some people do. I was flashpacking so I only had a day, but I still saw a lot. If you have only one day get a tuk tuk... More
