    Cocktail class with friends
The cocktail class with Sambo was so much fun! She explained everything about the Cambodian ingredients and local cocktails. We made 3 cocktails and the last one you can choose by yourself. If you are in Siem Reap for the evening this is so much fun with your friends!! Thankyou Sambo, we had a lot of fun 🫶🏼

Great cocktail bar in a beautiful old building
Nestled down a small back street close to Pub Street this one of the last all wooden houses left in Siem Reap. Drank here several evenings on my recent trip to Siem Reap. Great cocktails, staff and superb comfy surroundings.

A Great Place to Chill Out
This is a fabulous, cosy cocktail and drinks bar which is tucked down a side street. The staff were friendly. We did a cocktail making class and visited several times. Such a great place to chill out in Siem Reap.

Came for a cocktail stayed for the class!
We called in here for a quick cocktail based on the great feedback on TA and had such a great time that we booked in to do the cocktail class the very next night. What an awesome experience, and one of the best things we did in Cambodia. For $18US a head (which includes three cocktails) this is a fun experience and money well spent.

Dropped in for a cocktail in this quite oasis just a stone's throw from the terrible pub street.
Had some lovely Cambodian spiced cocktails and Cambodian ceviche.
Liked it so much went back next night to do Cambodian cocktail master class - which was excellent.
Amazing to make cocktails with lemon grass, galagal and fresh kompot peppers.
They even make their own Gin, which is a beautiful dry gin with local botanicals.

I decided to join the daily Khmer cocktail class. There were 2 other couples and a single traveler from China. Lala, our instructor was bright and cheerful upon introduction. She spoke great English and started the class with the herb demonstration. She cut up pieces of galanga, basil, lemongrass, turmeric and mint for us to pass around and taste.

The first drink we would be making was the ginger mojito. It had Bacardi white rum, brown rum, lime, soda water, ginger and brown sugar.

First we cut up the lime, added to our cup, plucked mint and added to the cup and added a generous amount of brown sugar and muddled the 3 ingredients in the cup.

Sometime before then, the ginger was added. The bottle of rums were passed around with measuring glass. One of the alcohol required a bit more than the other one. Additional mint and lime slices were used as a garnish. This was final result. The drink wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be but I enjoyed it.

In between drinks, we were given time to socialize and enjoy our drinks. We didn't know this and felt abandoned as Lala, our instructor was glued to her phone. A heads up would have been appreciated, "Please enjoy your drink and we will start our next drink in 15 minutes or so" would have been nice.

The second drink we made was called "Tamarind Sauce". It was gross, I didn't like it at all. It was fun to make and "pretty" to look at.

For the last drink, we all got to choose our own drink to make. This got a little confusing because we decided to make different drinks and the instructors had to give us individual instructions. I went with the "Lane" which was not very pleasant either. It had kaffir leaves, peppercorn and galanga. I should have went with the Asana Sling.

I had a lot of fun due to the people in my group who made it enjoyable.

A few things to know:

Classes start at 6 PM and reservations are encouraged. The class was advertised as 90 minutes. Our went on for about 2.5 hours.

Lala, the instructor is actually a rude person. She barked ordered at her coworkers and yelled at them about getting guests water and towels in her native language. She was talking about people in our group being stupid, annoying , double booking the reservations etc and referred to me as the fat girl. I guess her friendliness and smiles were just a facade and she was a fake.

This is a charming bar with great management nestled in the old quarter of Siem reap.

The manager that ran the course, La La, is a delight. what a beautiful person and such a fun teacher.
My wife and I had heard about the cocktail course and booked it with 2 other couples we had been travelling with. We could not be more happy with the evening.

We learnt all about the local spices and what to mix with the drinks. Who knew Kampot pepper would be so good in a white rum drink.

We were taught how to make two drinks as a group and then given the opportunity to pick any drink from the menu and make individually. It was very funny watching the others men try to work out the strongest cocktail and the ladies the tastiest.

This is a fun and easy going evening and for the$15 per person well worth the money.
Thanks again La La, your knowledge, humor and sunny personality was the best part of the evening

A peaceful retreat not far from the busy & noisy bars.
Something a bit different
Nibbles provided with every drinks round, a nice little touch
If you're eating & drinking in the area - definitely seek it out

Original looking good bar on 2 levels just away from the madness of Pub Street, with good service, and some tasty tapas. Worth dropping in

I found this bar via TA and thought it would be worth a visit. The atmosphere is really unique, they use old rice bags as pillows, you can sit/lay on "swinging beds", listen to relaxing music and just enjoy your time. At the first evening they showed me a flyer for their Khmer cocktail class to learn how to make local cocktails.
Today I attended the course and it ended up being a private class. Sambo (not sure about spelling) was very nice, gave detailed instructions and let me do everything on my own. After an introduction of the herbs and spices they use for making Khmer cocktails, we made the first cocktail. She waited until I finished my drink before we started with the next one. You will learn how to make Ginger mojito and Tamarind sauce and you can choose a cocktail from the list to learn a third one.
Many thanks again for the great service and all I could learn from you about making Khmer cocktails! :)

Found this lovely bar/restaurant down an alley off 8th street and what a find
The most prettiest wooden house with seat swings underneath in the court yard.
The staff sat us at a table and we were shown the drinks menu as we had already eaten else where
There was quiet a few people already eating, I opted for a vodka and diet coke 3.5$ and Simon a kingdom beer. Then I spotted our fav drink the black Russian so we downed our drinks and ordered two black Russians.
They were not shy with the measures and a nice touch was the cinnamon stick. I hope to go back tomorrow and try a few more and some footage staff were friendly and polite and made you feel welcome.

We enjoyed our cocktail class because we had an awesome group, but the instructor was surly and very abrupt with no sense of fun who scolded us like school children for minor transgressions like daring to tap our class with a muddler... Kind of strange! Even the strangers in our group were dumbfounded by her manner. Nice cocktails though.
