We spent a good two hours in this wonderfully arranged collection of ancient Buddhas and other statues. The museum gives a greater overall understanding of the history of the people of Cambodia; their origins, religions, civilisation and temples. The museum is well set out with free lockers for bags, restrooms and a cafe. Audio guides are available at a small cost, although we enjoyed the exhibits without one. Photography is permitted without flash / on phones.

This museum is beautifully laid out and provides thorough, well-written explanations of Khmer history in faultless English. It is particularly strong on history related to Angkor Wat and is an essential adjunct to visiting the site for those who want to understand what they are seeing. The audio tour is very good and so is the labelling. Allow a couple of hours at least and don’t miss the room of 1000 buddhas.

This is a wonderful, and beautiful, museum that not only showcases some of the finest sculpture and artifacts from Angkor, it’s also a quick and easy walk through the history of the area. I did a temple tour my first day here, the museum my second - and really wished I’d done the museum first. I’d have better understood what I was seeing in that order. Looking at the amount of rooms in the museum, you may think there’s not a lot, but I was there three hours. Partly because there are excellent videos (with seating areas) throughout the museum, all available in a variety of languages. I would recommend the museum as a start to every visit here, it’s really a shame more people aren’t making the time. Highly recommend.

I would not say it's a must-visit but it's nice. Some of the artefacts are amazingly well kept, especially some pieces from a temple in the north (bantay sray?), its a little bit a shame they are not still in place in the temple because I think it is where it belongs. But at least they are safe here.

Angkor National Museum is situated in the Siem Reap Cambodia. It is an archaeological museum and it provides information and education about culture and art of Khmer civilisation. The entrance fee is $12. It is better to visit the museum, before visiting Angkor Wat and other places in Siem Reap.

Friendly and attentive staff, though I wish they would provide face masks to the numerous people who were coughing uncontrollably. This made me feel unsafe and I left the exhibits early. Lots of great information, artefacts and videos. A great representation of Khmer history.

Very good if you are a history buff like me. Very well signed in English. Well thought out and laid out museum. At $10 US it is not cheap but it is a great backgrounder on Angkor Wat and the surrounding area Also you get to see some of the missing pieces. Recommended.

This is a really well set up historical museum. I took a lot out of going here in between trips to the temples. If you are here to soak up the history and explore the temples the museum helps you to build on the knowledge you gain on tours of the temples. Amazing culture. I spent about four hours here which is a long time, you probably don’t need that long but I was having a lazy day and I really enjoyed it here.

This spacious museum was well laid out. It emphasized the art more than historical context. There are many impressive works on display. We hailed our tuk-tuk from in front of our hotel. He detoured to a ticket agent, and insisted we buy our museum passes there. We paid the same as at the museum, but there was probably a commission involved. Calling a Grab might avoid the middleman.

Not too large in scale, and well laid out. It gives a good overview of Angkor Wat, the history and surrounding area. Highly recommend you visit prior to visiting temples etc as the level of interest may wane after you’ve seen your fill of temples. We visited Angkor Wat amongst many other temples “solo” as this allowed us to time to stroll at our pace. Please keep your children quiet in the various exhibition rooms. It’s NOT social hour!
