Artisans Angkor is a Cambodian social business which was originally created to revive Khmer cultural heritage while helping young rural people finding work near their home village.Since its creation at the end of 1990s, Artisans Angkor has strived to provide professional skills to communities with limited educational opportunities and has offered good working conditions and social advantages to its employees. It has now opened 48 workshops in Siem Reap province and it provides employment to over 1100 people, including more than 800 artisans.Over the years, Artisans Angkor has become a real showcase of Khmer workmanship for its silk fabrics and garments, stone and wood carving, lacquer ware, polychrome products, silver plating and silk painting.

Interesting place to see skilled artisans producing local types of art. Shop attached is very pricey.

Very interesting visit, but make sure your guide speaks good English as if not ( ours didn't) it's a it more difficult to understand how they work! At this association, you will see how the Angkor Artisans learn and work, which type of raw materials they usually use and the different working techniques. You will also collaborate with the association... More

Interesting to walk around the workshop, see how they make the handicrafts. Mostly involving wood and stone carving. High quality handmade crafts and fabric displayed in the retail part but the price tags well, a bit too high for those who are on budget holiday. Maybe for collectors will not be a problem. We spent 1 hour here.

Fantastic handicrafts - although a little expansive.. I found the ceramics the best and were well priced gifts for family and friends back home.. beautiful gifts.

Artisans Angkor was a couple of minutes walk from my guest house so this was one of the first places i visited. The organisation trains the less fortunate in the art of stone carving, wood carving, copperwork, laquerware, painting and more. The organisation has several workshops in the Siem Reap area.

Really great variety of silks, and other authentic crafts and goods as well as wood carved artwork and clothes. Great place to find gifts to bring back home from your travels!

On our last day in town, my husband and I opted to take a tour of the Angkor Artisans Silk Farm. I booked seats on their free shuttle departing the main Siem Reap location at 9:30am by emailing them via their website. A member of their communications department promptly confirmed we had seats on the shuttle. We arrived just before... More

This place is worth to visit beside the temples ruin. That's nice to see the carving and painting by young people there. Many products are display for sale at reasonable price and your support will also help the local charity activities. Don't hesitate to buy some products there!!!

We were looking forward to visiting this place, after seeing its advertisement everywhere. However, we were disappointed at the high price of all their items...didn't buy anything. The craft section was kind of interesting but not worth a special visit.
