Great views, bit of cultural insight.

Take it slow but you can do it! While families including old grandparents go up there to picnic. I went during a festival so it was full of BBQing families. It's interesting to see how at each station of the cross, the local custom is to leave stones. Great views, plenty of rubbish strewn about though, but still, a good... More

This is a moderately strenuous 30-minute pilgrimage up the mountain, ascending to 13,215 feet. It was very worthwhile, and our view of the city and Lake Titicaca was incredible; Peru is visible across the bay. Christians, as well as those of Andean faith hike to the top, leaving stone offerings to the mountain gods; it is sad to note that... More

Cerro calvario reaches the 4000masl and it's a strenous hike up but you reach it in about 30 min. from the town centre. On the way up you pass by the 14 crosses which show the story of Jesus's way to getting crucified. Sadly some of them crosses have been damaged or sprayed over. On the top of the hill... More

After a 40 minute hike, you'll get the chance to have one of the best views of Copacabana and the lake. The hike may be tough if you suffer from altitude sickness, so be sure to take your time, take some water, and drink a cup of mate before going up.

A 30 minute walk along some carved out steps and paths. Not really hard, but the high altitude takes your breath away. Once up: great views over Copacabana and Titicaca. Negative: rubbish everywhere. A real shame.

This was difficult for me as I was struggling with the altitude. I had to stop and regain my breath every 10 steps. The view is excellent, you can see all around for miles. The sunset wasn't overly impressive as there weren't many colours as it dropped very quickly. Up on top there is a church and ladies selling candles... More

a long journey upstairs but its worth the ride and stairs - me not used to this height or walking - make shure you have plenty of time to walk pause walk and pause several times. Enjoy the 360 view at the top of Copacabana.

A bit of a hike to get to but it offers great views of the city and the lake. Cool spot to take photos, especially at sunrise or sunset.

The hill is a bit of a mission to climb battling with the altitude but it's well worth it for the view over Copacabana and Lake Titicaca. We climbed Cerro Calvario yesterday for sunset and it was well worth the climb. Watching the sunset over the lake was magic. If you do climb for sunset don't leave it to late... More

Great views! Just in case anyone is planning to walk up the dirt track and do a loop: there is not really a clear path after half way and you are climbing rocks, we are no way experienced and found it ok but at times were thinking 'what the ****', you need decent walking boots.
