Lovely oasis in the middle of the desert, well worth a visit! Bring a picnic and chill out in the shade next to the streams and pools. The road into it is very bumpy and gravelly - take it slow in a hire car!!

We drove and walked through this refuge. It was a bit difficult to find, and the roads are dirt and have some minor wash-boarding, but it is a new refuge and the interpretive portion is very well done.

We visited this on one of our Death Valley driving loops and it was a jewel. Such an interesting and well-designed site -- nice visitor center with helpful staff, good film, easy visitor access mainly on boardwalks. We were charmed by the pupfish. Kudos to...More
