This small park is worth a quick visit to read the historic information on the smelter plant and see the actual diameter of the stack. Good view point for the real stack.

Having been through Anaconda many times, we made a quick stop at the Stack Interpretive Site. While you get a partial view of the stack, the site educates you on what took place at the stack, and shows you first hand how big the strucure...More

We took a little side trip to this park to get some information on the stack. My husband loves the trivia in our travels. While the stack is barely visible from the site, the cool thing was the feel of its size. The information about...More

Pretty much just a place to park while you view the stack. Since there are literally hundreds of other areas to view it around the area, it's value isn't in the view but rather a place to picnic and use the restrooms.

Historic spot, nice to go for the experience. 15 minutes is plenty. Interesting aspect was getting a feel for how big the base of the smokestack is. At night it looks nice. The locals felt enough about it to take substantial effort to keep it...More

Since it is so close to the main road it is worth stopping. There are signs telling a bit of history but not much else. It does give you a sense of the size of the old "stack" though.

We enjoyed it very much as it brought back lots of old time memories from prior trips. This was new to us and it offered the charm of the smelter. It had the view of the smoke stack in the back ground where it had lots...More

Not allot to see but a great story of the old Town and it's history. Many local statues and sculptures to depict how life was in the early years.

We stopped here because my grandfather worked in the smelter. But, it is really interesting for anyone curious about the local area. Note that you cannot go up to the smoke stack itself but they have a cool monument to it in the park. The...More

Well, at least the "park" is free. It is just an exhibit. You can see the Smoke Stack in the distance, not much closer than from the highway. The smelter ruins are off-limits probably for safety reasons, so overall there is not much to see.

I would call their Chamber of Commerce, or even a local Anaconda business. The park is so tiny that it has no on-site personnel, but someone in town might be able to help you find out if there are any planned tours or events.
