Great snacks, good wine and beautiful patio with stunning views. Location is the perfect first stop for a winery tour or my favorite winery if you are only doing one ;)

Another great day with friends and an amazing view. We love the huge deck overlooking the river valley of trees and bluffs.

We stopped here after a 22 mile bike ride on the Katy trail located nearby. They had live music and panoramic views off their massive deck. The deck easily seats a couple of hundred people. We bought a bottle of wine and enjoyed the sunset...More

Sister winery of Augusta Winery. This one is more of a destination place- larger tasting room, large sitting area outdoors with nice views and live music. Parking gets tight on weekends- it’s a hike up to the winery itself from the second parking lot. If...More

Montelle Winery has commanding views and a huge deck from which to enjoy them. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and enjoyed a pleasant lunch on the deck. The sandwiches were large and delicious and were served with potato chips. Unfortunately, a number of bees...More

We love our annual wine trip to Augusta MO. Our first stop is always Montelle Winery for the breathtaking views of the changing season. This year the vibe has changed. Walking through the door our upbeat demeanor was instantly squashed by the less than stellar...More

There are a number of quaint little villages and wineries just south of Saint Louis on highway 94. One of them is the Montelle Winery. They definitely win for the best perch of any of the wineries in the area. Just off of the tasting...More

Delicious prime rib at montelle winery. Beautiful scenery. Wine suggestion was good, too. Enjoyed the entertainment. Service was a bit impersonal.

There is no other winery in the hills of Defiance/Augusta area that has a better view. Absolutely breathtaking. You need to get there early on weekends to get a table, even though there is a lot of seating, it fills quickly. The food is very...More

It appears that Montelle goes dark on entertainment for the winter months (Jan-Mar); but picks things back up in April. You can view specific entertainment listings on their website.

I'm not sure that they allow outside food to be brought in. It was my assumption that you had to purchase your meal/drinks there to enjoy on the patio.

You can, but best in a stroller or you will have to carry. Probably have more fun if you leave with a sitter.
