This is a place everyone must see! We did several trails in the Arcadia Dunes but I loved the Old Baldy Trail! The trail is well marked and it was perfect weather to hike. When Lake Michigan is the ending place how can you go...More

After hiking this trail one can understand why people banded together and formed the Grand Traverse Nature Conservancy to stop Consumers Power from turning the area into condos for the rich and golf courses. The trail is well march and beautiful. We had a multi-age...More

Agree with others- this is a nice walk through the woods with stairs and a short dune walk that opens on to an impressive view. You can then decide to do some steep climbs or gentle rolling sand walk along the bluff.

On our way home from the Sleeping Bear Dunes area we stopped here to hike the Baldy trail ( about 1 mi. Each way) that takes you to the top of Mt. Baldy dune. The view is breathtaking! 450 feet above the Lake Michigan shore...More

We have climbed Old Baldy, then known to us as The Blowout, for 75 years. It has always been worth it. As we have grown older, climbing up into the blowout itself has become more challenging. However, the GT Regional Land Conservancy has not only...More
