Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was so amazing and educational. I learned so much about Bolivia and their culture. The work is just stunning, but the info I learned was even better. The only issue we had was in knowing when the museum was open and it did close for lunch. It is set up high over the city.

It's a pity you can't take photos to remember all the beautiful textile shown. They offer you a mate drink as a welcome drink.

The textiles here are just amazing and the shop has wonderful high-quality things. We will visit a second time before our departure. The girl that works in the shop is so kind and helpful!

A bit hard to find, you have to climb up a steep hill which can get slippery when it rains so wear good shoes. Have your hotel give you a city map so you can find it. They do not allow photography inside. Signage is mostly in spanish. I spend a good 90 minutes in there. There is an excellent gift shop where you are allowed to take pictures.

This was a very interesting museum, the textiles were unique and beautiful, and there was a lot of information about the different indigenous cultures of the region. The shop had a wide range of textiles and most of the money went to the artists.

I still regret not buying textiles from this museum, or just in Sucre in general. If you've traveled in South America for any lengths of time you know, all the tribes in this continent have some kind of traditional textile works. However, some are better than others, and in many cases designs aren't that unique or just similar to other tribes in the continent. I've been traveling South America for four months now. I've been to Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. Peru is known as the king of all tourism and textitle too, but to be honest many of its popular designs can be found in all those other countries. It's just not that unique. Some alpaca sweaters designs you will see them in every stores in every single countries in South America. That's where the people of Jal'qa and Tarabuco comes in. The tribes from near Sucre region, and these tribes definitely have the best and the most unique textitle items in the continent. The color scheme and patterns, you can still distinguish them out of all the different designs you will see in South America. Moreover, unlike many popular textitles you will see in Peru and all those other markets in South America, these textitles are only available in this museum, in Sucre, and of course the villages of these tribes. I'm usually not a museum-goer, but I was impressed with their works. And now that I've spent a lot more time in the continent, I realize what they have here were really something special. I had 6 more months of travel so I didn't want to buy anything but I regret it now. Pay a visit and if you're going to buy a textitle in South America, make it from here, from these tribes. They're special. I guarantee that.

The museum shows parts of the past as well as what currently is still being practiced. All this based around the art of making the colorful cloths that are so prominently on sale outside. Here you get the background of where these come from and what their traditional meanings are.
Small children will get bored after some time but even for them the colorful cloths and models of the traditional dresses are interesting for some time.

Really lovely artworks at very reasonable prices. Some of the nicest I've seen in Bolivia. Just beware, the address has changed and the museum is now up next to the Mirador Cafe.

This museum presents a thoughtful, intelligent and thorough introduction to local indigenous weaving, music and ceremonial customs. The displays are excellent, and written guides are available in various languages. The commentary appears to be written by enthusiastic scholars. A visit to this museum can be very thought-provoking if you take the time to study the art and analysis.

There’s a store selling textile and other handiwork similar to what’s being exhibited. The museum is near a mirador with geat views of Sucre.
