My girlfriend and I visited the castle and on the outside you think, phwoar, this is impressive! However, we paid 20 BOB each for i'm not sure what. There is next to no information or furniture in the house and the garden has no water...More

This "Castle" is part of very interesting history of Sucre and Bolivia in general. Sucre has so much history, and it is very well presented, explained and well worth visiting. So this castle was a big disappointment. It was built by an extremely wealthy couple...More

The castle is not worth the time it takes to get there and back. There is nothing to see only a very old castle, or more accurately the sad remains of a castle. Most rooms are empty; one had a bed frame in it, another...More

While there be little funding for upkeep (understandable), it is not clear why the community made such poor decisions about the surroundings, and why the concessioner decided to provide so little information about the vacant and abandoned villa. You will not learn anything from the...More

The castle is quite impressive and good looking at first glance, but it’s certainly not a must see. The interior has been completely stripped out and graffitied- the place doesn’t seem to been taken care of. Bit of a way out from town centre too....More

Take the local bus (4) from the corner of Arenales and Loa until the end of the line. Costs 1.50 Bolivianos each way. Entry to the grounds and gardens is free. You can go inside but this costs and also extra for a camera. Nice...More

Actually the visit is NOT worth it, you just pay to enter into an empty and abandoned building, there are not any guide to explain the history of it, nor any literature around the place.

at less than 30 minutes from Sucre center, the castle is a jewel that can be visited with local guide that provide a lot of info about the family and the history of the castle. Nice 2hours excursion from Sucre
