I went there in August and I bought thermal pants and t-shirts... And even so I felt cold. There is a refuge there where people usually spend the night. There is no communication at all with the world. But at the end of the day...More

Visiting in May one was still able to view hundreds of flamingos in the lake before they migrated north to warmer surroundings. There were also llamas grazing on the shores. Bitterly cold however.

The ochre-red color of the lagoon is strikingly beautiful against the surrounding dark volcanic rocks and the bright blue sky. An absolute must.

We sent here with Tupiza tours and it is definately worth a visit. Salar de uyuni, the national park, the geysers, the volcanos, the lagunas: it is all so super beautiful and a must see when going to Bolivia!

Hugely impressive and stunning sight (which I saw as part of the 3-day Cordillera Traveller Tour), but be careful as the altitude here can really get you. It is also extremely windy and you need to be fully wrapped up.

On a trip with Intrepid Travel, this was definitely one of the highlights. We were able to get up close and personal with large flocks of Flamingos. Their squeaking squawking shrill calls, and slender bodies, varied shades of light to brilliant pink, all everything you...More
