Beautiful view of the city, most amazing building.

A really amazing building, views out of this world, enjoyed our visit a lot. At first was a bit nervous because it was overwhelming , but speed the lift travels was amazing.

Visit the Khalifa during the morning or sfter lunch period. These are the best time. During the ninght you only see the buiding lights.

We booked via Tripadvisor a Burj Khalifa tours and Musical Fountains from Dubai with Viator ref 8264P15. Price just under £70 per person , actual cost if organised by me incl taxi maximum £50. Picked up as promised from hotel but very little commentary on what we were passing on the way . Having arrived at the Burj Khalifa ,... More

Visiting one of the architectural feats of the world was amazing. The entrance to the building was in the bottom of the Dubai mall and allowed for some touring through before going up. The walls feature facts about how the building was engineered and constructed. The elevator ride played an informational video about how the building came to be. The... More

Book in advance for cheaper tickets and there can be a long wait to finally get into a lift to get close to the top. Although it is marketed as "at the top" it is worth noting that you don't go all the way to the top.

Of course it is a must see but let me tell you a tip. Pick one hour close to sunset so you can see the view during the afternoon and enjoy the magical sunset but wait because when it gets dark you see all the night lights and not only that but the amazing fountains from up there so you... More

Pay extra for the Top, this will jump the queues for the lift and save at least an hour of time, and nice seating, dates and drinks at the top.

At the corner of the the 6 lane Sheikh Zayd Road, Dubai, the burj khalifa is a 8th wonder of the world, being the world tallest its the world pictorial sight to. First tip - get a Groupon ticket and buy the Fast Track tickets (approx £35 when we went) as it will save you a long time queueing. The lifts are fast and the view is amazing - although it mainly reveals what a massive building site Dubai still is!

This place is awesome. I've visited my fair share of tall buildings and this is the best to date. The bar in the Armani Hotel was sublime and then the views from the top are outstanding. To watch planes landing below and helicopters flying by make you realise how tall this place is. So glad to have ticked this one... More

Staying in Downtown Dubai

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
