Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa,...

Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building.

Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship.

At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004.

Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

This is a one of the wonders which you must visit just because of Its architecture and the technology ...lift takes you 124th floor in just 60 secs... one suggestion would be to book online before you begin your trip to Dubai...and take the hard copy of the booking voucher...tickets ofprime time is costly as compared to other timing slots..... Despite the fact that there is often a mist/fog that obscures ones view across the terrain, you just go up the tallest building in the world if you are in Dubai. You learn do much about the philosophy behind its design and the significance of the land design around it. This you have NO idea of if you just wander... More

A great experience. Must see. The view form floors 124 and 125 are amazing. The elevator ride to the top and bottom are both wonders in themselves. Best time to go is early morning and late evening at Sunset time.

Wow, going to the 148th floor was an awesome experience. We were definitely given VIP treatment, it was worth the extra spend as we did not have to wait in lines for the lifts going up and coming down. They served us Arabian coffee, dates, juices and an array of cookies. When we reached the top it felt like we... More

The regular tickets were sold out for three days straight so we purchased immediate entry tickets. While they are expensive, they were fantastic with the kids. Not only do you jump the queue when you arrive, but you continue to go through express lanes and jump the queues the whole way to the top and back. My kids would not... More

Staying in Downtown Dubai

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
