A little disappointing here as the design of most of the jewellery and the fact that it was 24 carat made the jewellery look cheap (although 24c is pure gold). A shame but definitely for Middle East patronage and Middle East tastes.

This place is not cheap, but it is cheaper than larger jewelry stores. You can negotiate great pricing for gold, silver, pearls, Diamonds, etc. I recommend some of the smaller shops. Just beware that there are many "brokers" in the street trying to get you to purchase their "goods" which are in fact fake. Stay away from them.

Ignore the hawkers selling fake handbags and watches and you will have a great time. Prices are fantastic and you must bargain. There are tons of shops with different styles - you just have to find the style you like and bargain. A lot of the jewelry is Indian style and they often expect bangles to be sold in multiples.... The whole set-up of the this souk is now totally different from my last visit here in 2007. It is catered for tourists, and you will not find the locals shop here. Same things are sold at every shop with limited choice. If this is your first time to Dubai, probably it is worth the visit to see the gold... More

I have been here three times in the last week all to be honest decent times people friendly and hospitality was great considering we had an annoyed 21 month old baby girl who was hot and bothered, p pole were very friendly in helping out with pram up stairs and lifts when checking for discount knock offs. However on this... More

We have visited twice now and have not been disappointed. You have to see the displays of Gold to believe it. My husband bought me a ring which unfortunately lost a stone. The jeweller was willing to repair it and after twice returning with it over two years, the ring is now first class. How many other traders do you... More

Not overly impressed, especially with the starting prices from most vendors. If you decide to visit, come prepared to negotiate and haggle for a decent and fair price. Know what gold and silver is trading for on the open market and offer 10-15% more for workmanship. If you're not the haggling type, I would recommend The Souk at the Dubai... More

We visited the Gold Souk as part of a tour in 2015. This time in Dubai we independently traveled to the Souk and brought friends, first timers. We had a great time looking at all the one of kind items in the windows and then got down to serious shopping. We walked away with some wonderful memories shared with friends.... More

This is an exciting walk through for us gals and better if you have money to buy! Store after store of beautifully displayed gold or diamond jewelry. Wish I had not been feeling poor when I walked through. I have never been so thrilled taking pics of store windows! This is a must see, even if you just like jewelry... More

Staying in The Creek

Neighbourhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
