if you are visiting dubai, do give the metro a try. very efficient and clean and quiet compared to the london underground. Not tickets work like a London oyster card. Only drawback is long walks from metro stops to attractions as the 2 lines are built in straight lines!

The UK really should take note of the metro in Dubai. It is clean, efficient, easy to navigate, and has women only carriages which makes going solo, like I did, easy and safe. I managed to see a lot of Dubai by using this mode of transport as it was relatively cheap to use and quicker than by car or taxi.... More

chewing gum is prohibited. You can see the sign everywhere. it is like the most important thing there. it its almost never underground. So you can see the city and the buildings. There is a weird smell. I don't know what it is. I used it several times' at least 7-8 times' and the smell is always there. that is... More

Cheep and fast way through Dubai. No delay due too traffic. Realy clean but little smelly. Stations look amazing. From airport to dubai marina in 45 minutes. Very frequent schedule.

a convenient mode of transport, particularly if your interests are on the same route.. red or green line this makes it more convenient. clean, secure and frequent travel experience. Does seem a long journey if you are travelling from one end of town to another... can be inconvenient if you are switching lines. would like to see more connections to... More

We bought Nol cards for 25 AED at the Information Booth. You can re-change these at the vending machines but initial purchase needs to be at the booths. We also used them on the tram to access the Marina. You must check that you swipe your card on entry as well as exit to the station. Metro trains are frequent... More

Well organised Dubai transport option. 22 AED for daily ticket is fair price and, with tram, you can reach almost everything to bee seen.

There is a well connected transportation system in Dubai. The best option for tourists is the Dubai Metro and city bus. Of course taxis are also available but the price works out higher. Metro and bus connects all the major shopping malls and tourist locations. There are no cash transactions in the metro and bus. Travelers have to buy a... More

We got a day ticket and ended up travelling from one end to the other (stopping off at Dubai Mall for quite a while). Great views when the trains are traveling overground and interesting to see the sights out into the more desert area. Very clean carriages and stations. Easy access. Station Staff very helpful to point in the right... More

We used the metro several times during our visit to Dubai, at all different times of day, and it was always heaving! Maybe trains could be more regular to ease congestion? Other than that, excellent service, clean, cheap, reliable and I particularly liked the separate areas for woman and children.
