Are they worth the hype? Well they are fun, interesting but very short! Time your visit to the mall so you can pop out, view them, then continue shopping. The day we visited we caught one short session, went back later to see more - however there was a thunderstorm, so due to technical reasons the Fountains were not active!

After a long shopping session in the Dubai Mall, this is all you want to see down the exit to Financial Centre Road.

It is around 10 minutes long but it is worth watching if you have the time. The fountains are set against the Burj Khalifa as a back drop and great music and lighting. it's beautiful.

I've been lucky enough to see the fountain display at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and this was that on steroids. Different music due to setting but still a brilliant thing to watch and get a few pictures of. Lots of restaurants around the fountain but normal standing observation points too so you won't struggle for a view point.

We've seen the fountain several times. Getting the "best" view is a challenge with the bridge areas crowded long before the show. Still, views elsewhere are good such as at the surrounding restaurants, with Serafino working out for us. Very colorful and fun for everyone if you can bear with the crowds.

fun to watch and especially to see them dance to the local music. At night they even change the colors so go see in day and at night

Lovely evening activity and interesting choices of music always offered in the evening, just a shame the crowd there is so pushy

I don't know, but I got a feeling that i was in Disneyland. As with everything in Dubai, this is suppousingly the biggest of its kind in the world. We saw it during the dark time and of course it was nice to see the water dancing in accordance with the peaceful music.I just heard afterwards that they have different music... More

Staying in Downtown Dubai

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
