Such a beautiful and long way where you can ride a boat from a side to the other for a little amount. Usually visitors and residents use it for their transportation. We had a nice short trip by boat to the shore, a nice walk, and later ride back to Al Seef area. Many shops, kiosks and restaurants.

Abra is derived from the word 'abara' which means to cross. There are several points along Dubai creek also called Abra stations. One of them is the Bur Dubai Abra near Meena bazar and Ghubaiba. The most commonly used waterbus from here takes you to the Deira souk area, but there are other options further along the creek. The price is 1 dirham (one way). The waterbuses are mainly used by locals (i.e. immigrant workers) and have been doing their job for decades. Perhaps it is time to replace the very polluting diesel engines for a cleaner device.

Shock, horror, the price has quadrupled since we last travelled on this iconic transport, back in the 80's when we paid 25fils !!! Nothing has changed except they all seem to be registered with the RTA & have shade cloth as shade. Walked from the Shindagha Museum along the creek to take the abra from , what to us, is a new location. In the past it was a straight across trip, this one is slightly longer. Make sure you have coins ready for when the pilot bangs the lid of his cash tray for fares.

Book a private abra for 30 mins for 60 dirham. Was actually offered a 1hr tour for 120 dirham, but with a 4year old and the fact that we reach Bur Dubai in the afternoon...30mins is suffucient experience...at least it beat the 1 dirham cross the creek experience. Better to arrive in the morning.

You've got to try the Abra ride over Dubai Creek! It's such an authentic experience, as it's the traditional way to cross from one side to the other. It only takes a few minutes and 1-4 Dirhams, but let me tell you, the views and the atmosphere are totally worth it. I highly recommend going during sunset—it's absolutely magical.

A banal pier, without anything out of the ordinary. Minimal equipment, crowding, dozens of abra boats waiting for their customers. A lot of restaurants with terraces on the water's edge. Picturesque. Crossing Dubai Creek with an abra costs 1 AED, cash only.

This was the first attraction I visited after checking in at my hotel in Deira. The ride to the Bur Dubai was short, about 5-7 minutes, fare is just 1 AED or about 30: cents. The process of loading the abra or boat is an organized process, As one boat becomes full, the staff directs the waiting passengers to the next available boat. I enjoyed my ride and did some shopping at the Souq.
