This square is indeed very impressive and large. A nice place to stroll around and visit the many souvenir shops and watch the locals picnicking. A bit too crowded over the Nawruz holiday when we visited.

I visited the square early in the morning after arriving on an overnight bus from Tehran. The main advantage of visiting at this time is that there aren't many other people around and you can get photos of the buildings in the square without people. Later in the day it also looks good but people will be in the way.... More

Naqshe Jahan square is one of the most beautiful places I have seen. With lots of history in its heart, U will be surprised when visit that for the first time. My special offer is to go through there twice (at least); one time in day and another time in night.

You will be impressed by the architecture and mood of the area, make sure you dedicate enough time to visit all corners and maybe dine there.

A mysterious, typically oriental, beautiful Square with tausend of shops around, where you can see and buy the prettiest souvenirs of Isfahan, for example Mina, Khatam, Mes( copper Topfs, Finruze( Turquoise) and Ghalamkarie. There could you take a ride with horse carriage. It's the fisrt place to see in Isfahan.

I arrived there early in the morning, it was nice and quite park like square. A hour later it was full of people walking, laughing. The square is basically a shopping center, bordered by shopping street full of handicraft shops selling all the wonders what Middle East can offer. Must have if you visit Esfahan.

Enough has been reviewed here and elsewhere about the wonderful, fabled main square of Esfahan. I visited it over a number of days and never tired of its beauty and exploring its nooks and crannies. I spent time in the bazaar one day and when I came out a dust storm had appeared out of nowhere and the city became... More
