Living in Lebanon since a few years, we love to take our visitors to the temples of Baalbek. We have been here many times and the site never fails to impress me greatly. It is simply magnificent. In the summer festivals are organized throughout Lebanon and performances are held in the temples of Baalbek. We saw Zucchero this last July... More

This is the most impressive site to visit in Lebanon in my opinion. I have been a few times, but each time it gets better. I recommend hiring one of the guides that hang out around the gate, you will enjoy the experience much more. They usually hire around $20 regardless of the size of your group and the tour... More

These ruins are very nice and well worth a visit. They are amongst the best kept Roman Ruins in the world. Try to go at the time of the Baalbek Festivals in July. It gets hot during the day but cool at night.

I went to Baalbeck ruins, which is one of Lebanon's greatest Roman Treasures, during April 2012, which was an excellent timing as the weather was nice and convenient to do the long walk in the ruins and see the temple. I enjoyed my visit to the ruins because of the long drive (it depends on which area you are going... More

The ride from Beirut is over 2 hours. The temple was really nice but it was Hot. The tunnel leading out was amazing the way it was cooled naturally considering the heat outside. Must visit when in lebanon.

This is a must if you are visiting Lebanon. Is the most famous tourist area and they have tours all the time. They are huge roman ruins that you can walk thru. Be aware of the vendors that are ready to attack as soon as they see tourist.

Get a good English speaking guide to take you around or you'll miss out! We had a good guide and the guides go for around 20 USDollars.

Well worth a visit to this amazing site. I couldn´t get over how big the place is, we spent around 3 hours just wandering and taking photos. Not much info around but in the small museum there are more details. Very hot in summer so take plenty of water!
