Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I went down here during the late afternoon only to find out it comes on only at night. Everything I found online said "it is better at night" but that is because it is only on at night. It is pretty once it comes on and walking along the Corniche there is nice. But I think it is important for travelers and tourists to know it is not on during the daylight hours. The first few photos are before it came home at 6pm.

We saw it from afar while driving. Starts later in the evening just about after sun-set.
It is impressive considering the height it reaches but it does not give a soothing feel, on the contrary it gives a scary feel, seeing so much of water gushing up in the sky and dropping down.
The very fact that it sends scary signals, means that the fountain has a character and life.

We had not looked this up before going although we knew that this was supposed to be the highest fountain around. My party of three went on Friday at sunset as advised. While it was fun to walk around the boardwalk admiring the shoreline and the diverse crowds, sunset came and went with no sign of a fountain. There was no information whatever, online or via hotel staff, as to why the fountain was not working. The next day someone we met informed us that the fountain had *probably* been down for the holiday but no one was sure. A second visit was successful. The fountain did not disappoint. We all had expected a wider water display but it made sense that this was shooting straight up. A very interesting concept. It was also fun to walk along the nearby streets which were busy and gritty, have a.meal and generally enjoy the atmosphere. Certainly a good way to spend the evening.

Yes, stunning to view at night from the corniche. Nice atmosphere with lots of families sat out with children having food and drink. I didn’t see the different colours being projected as mentioned on the site. I stayed until about 730, so not sure if it happens later or on certain nights. Area also has little food places to grab snacks.
Area is quite away from the main areas I was in (Red Sea Mall) and I could see the light house in the distance so definitely an area to visit to explore. Taxi prices varied but I paid 125Sar from Red Sea Mall. Not sure if that is good or bad. Uber seemed cheaper so should have done that.
Not bad phone pictures for it but probably a proper camera will do a lot better. Found holding phone on the ground gave it a steady exposure.

Visited the fountain lookout area one evening with my family.
Lovely evening out, fountain is quite splendid but after about 15-20 minutes just move on into cafes and restaurants located close by.
Highly recommended, enjoy the view.

Kind Fahds fountain is located off shore, midway on the corniche, in the Al Hamra district.
You can’t miss it and its immensely high jet of water is impressive both through the day and at night.
The fountain is named after King Fahd bin Abdulaziz who ruled Saudi Arabia from 1982 until 2005.
It’s a nice addition to your stroll along this section of the corniche and provides a good photo opportunity.

We went with a group of friends to watch the sunset and see the fountain. It was a very nice way to spend the evening. The fountain is wonderful and there is a nice family atmoshere. We went for a walk along the waterfront afterwards.

Nice views of the fountain at night. It looks really nice and you can take nice photos as well. The fountain it seems only comes on when it gets dark out. Definitely worth the time to come here to watch and take a few photos.
