One would actually believe that the mosque is floating - that's what it seems from a distance. Actually there are pillars supporting the base which rise from the sea bed. lovely piece of engineering.

As we strolled by the corniche, we stopped for afternoon prayer at the floating mosque. It’s one on the pilgrims’ favourite place of visit after performing umrah or hajj. Spacious mosque and many helpful locals around.

This is a must visit for anyone travelling to Jeddah. Best time to visit is during Sunset. Makes for an amazing family time. Ensure to carry a mat to sit there. Can barbeque chicken or meat over there.

A mosque made on water but with pillars on ground only sea water passing from beneath.. definitely a tourist spot where tourist buses flock and the pilgrims always visit this mosque in Jeddah.
