Gabel Street Souq is the in the center of old Jeddah. Lots of alleys covered from the sun and have all kinds of whole salers , money exchanges and spices ...lots of old style restaurants especially the fish restaurants. Right next to it you will find the newer shopping malls that have a lot of good deals in terms of... More

This souq is in Balad which is the reflection of old Jeddah. The street is crowded from tourists from all over the Jeddah, starting from local to foreigners of different countries. You will find everything in these small shops catering people from all walks of life. This souq depicts the true picture of traditional markets of Saudi Arabia

A great area for shopping if you like bargaining but dirty in places - really good for clothes, gold and lots of traditional food.

If you go downtown or "Balad" as it is locally called, a trip to this souk (market) is highly recommended to get a flavor of old Jeddah and for some excellent 'local' shopping

It reminds me of my childhood days when Souq Qabil used to represent the main shopping center for the residents, with all sorts of merchants and vendors available ie moneychangers to shoe stores, groceries and household needs, in addition to sweets and cheese shops...

I have visited this beautiful location with friends many times. It is the best place to tour old and historic Jeddah. There are many traditional shops where you can do most of your shopping. There are also many nice restaurants where you can dine or have a cup of coffee. Beautiful location in Jeddah
