I visited the Tad Sae Waterfalls in April 2017, and to my dismay - the falls were dry! One can still see how beautiful the cascades are (would be?) and the surrounding park - there is even a small restaurant which was open and a zip-line which was closed. Not worth the effort to come especially to see it when... More

This place is simply amazing. Upon entering the waterfall; we spent some time with the bears. We hiked up the waterfall and took some amazing pictures. To cool down, we hiked down the mountain and lounged in the waterfall afterward. The water was refreshing and clean. Definitely a nice place to visit again.

We took the boat up from the elephant village (having been told the waterfall was dry but went for the boating experience). A tragic sight of monkeys in very small cages who seemed traumatised by boredom. They should be removed.

So it was off season for the falls. Not that we were told in advance. There are small unhappy monkeys in cages. The place is a disgrace in an otherwise lovely country to visit

We visited the falls as apart of an elephant experience day further down river. As expected from previous reviews and having visited in the dry season, the falls were dry except for a small amount of water being mechanically pumped up from the river to give some effect. You can walk up the side of waterfall but there was not... More

This is a must visit if you are in Luang Probang and not far to go from town. Best waterfall I have seen anywhere and all the better if you fancy hiking up to the top or going for a swim.

Due to the time of year we were there the waterfalls were not as big as we had expected, but, getting to the area by boat was an adventure. It is a nice spot to wander around and is cooler because of its location in the jungle.

We went to the waterfalls by longtail boat in the dry season. The place looked very dry although they had one "pool" where people could dip in. There was also one restaurant and a cafe open although not many visitors.
