We brought pens, books and made $$ donations. They put the donated in a sort of traveling quilt with pockets, and when it is full, they take it to a remote village to help the children learn. The $$ is used to buy books to help educate the kids. So worthwhile.

The library itself is not too interesting, but they have a project that connects locals with visitors. An incredibly interesting experience for everybody. Have you ever been curious about the perspective of lao people? This is your chance to get interesting stories and do something good as the locals get to practice their english.

We dropped in to the Library and spoke to the lovely lady on the counter about their work. We were very impressed and made a donation.

I'm so pleased we happened across this community effort whilst looking for some suggestions for Luang Prabang. It immediately spoke to my heart so we headed off there next time we were in town. The lady in charge of the outreach who was also from Australia really impressed us with her enthusiasm and drive. What a great way to support... More

This is a must visit for all of us travellers from the rich developed nations. For an infinitesimal fraction of what you spend on getting here, eating, buying presents that end up in charity shops when you get them home, you can actually do some good! The books for children is an excellent idea and has long term gains for... More

Buy books for distribution around more remote schools from as little as $2. Staffed largely by volunteers it is a very rewarding visit.

Our three families with six kids all enjoyed a day trip on the floating library with the Library staff to visit a small village. We were able to give reading books, toothbrushes and other resources to the kids from the village. We exchanged songs and games that we are all still using back in Australia with our kids and their... More

This library accepts all donations to assist in bring books to the out of town schools. Every little donation helps. The photos are amazing of the team distributing the books - so many happy children. $2 is all it costs to buy a book to be donated. Great cause
