All said and reviewed the place is out of turmoil and security issues now. A very small market of Gunsmiths making their living from this profession. A guide is must to visit Dara Adam khel where the gun markets are. Kohat Pass is just a normal big tunnel and it has a big animal sanctuary towards Kohat side.

The tunnel joins the northern part with the southern part. Before construction of this tunnel the travelling to southern part was dangerous and time consuming ,but its construction has solved the both Its about 1.9km long and can crossed in just 2 mins if not obstructed by heavy traffic

After a long drive on a beautiful road (Only the initial hour has bad road and traffic when you pass through Peshawar out skirts), you come to a small market on a busy congested road.... More

As of early 2013 the tribal areas are extremely dangerous place to be. Of course as a tourist I really wanted to visit Kohat Pass (Darra Adam Khel) to see all the famous gun factories, but everyone advised me against it - there are daily battles between Pakistani Army and militants in the area and American drones patrolling the skies....
