This is an amazing teak building in traditional Burmese style. The roofs are decorated with very intricate carving. Not a lot to see here but well worth a short visit. Only men are allowed to go inside.

This small monastery is a very attractive and photogenic site to visit. The wood, and the carvings, both inside and out are now darkened with age, but very interesting. Intricate detailing everywhere. Lots of gold leaf inside (hence the "golden" palace). Well worth a visit.

In this monastery made essentially by teak there are a lot of beautiful carvings especially inside the monastery. It is also very quiet.

The intricate carvings, the grandeur created from the use of so much teak and the story behind the building all make for an interesting visit
