Some columns are now adorned with jade, which I found to be interesting though nothing compared to the Jade pagoda. They have early morning face washing rituals if you are keen. I found the bronze statues from Angkor Wat to be the most interesting thing...More

Located within Mandalay, you can easily reach here by taking a cab. Overall I really enjoyed the visit. The temple itself is impressive. There are several shops leading up to the temple. I would recommend wearing pants while visiting.

Clean, beautiful and with only a few annoying sellers at the entrance. This place has wonderful examples of design. The incredible gold leaf everywhere, gives it an other worldly feeling. You have many opportunities to respectfully observe devotees in pray including nuns and monks.

Huge temple complex where the main attraction seems to be putting gold leaf on the Budda statue. It’s a “men only” activity and women have to be content with waiting outside the inner shrine. There are large shopping arcades outside the 4 entrances, mainly with...More

We visited this Pagoda grounds during a tour of Mandalay. All of the structures, Buddhas and outbuildings are beautiful and definitely should not be missed while in the area.

Take you camera and you will get some amazing pictures. You have to pay a local currency fee of 100 to use it. But the pictures are worth it.
