People stop by this place on their way to Chefchaouen, the blue city. It is an UNESCO listed place with many historical buildings but nothing spectacular for photos, or instagram

Small enough to be manageable and feels very traditional compared to medinas in Chefchaouen, Fez and Marrakech. Few "guides" to bother you.

The Medina of Tétouan is very interesting to explore - but use a guide! You will never have orientation in this small walkways between the tiny houses. Everything is built in and on top of each other. Beautiful experience. Must see, UNESCO world heritage

This medina feels authentic thanks to the fact that it isn't touristic. Alleys are full of surprises and the architecture is awesome. Well worth a visit.

Nothing much to do in Tétouan. The Médina looks more modern than other Moroccan cities. The thing I found here that I did not find elsewhere is the bookstores. Bookstores selling books about Arabic and Islamic history are everywhere.

We chose to spend two nights here instead of two nights in Chefchaouen. I was amazed at how lovely the new city was and its incredible historical Medina. Our Riad was a beautiful palace type property rich with a fusion of Andalusian and Moorish architecture....More

The medina itself is not big. I was impressed to see the road signs, which still preserve some jewish names, though the jews no longer live there.

The historical background of this Medina is fascinating. Indeed, it is impressive that it dates back to 1492 and is certainly worthy of a UNESCO designation. However, we elected to visit the Medina of Tetouan as an excursion from our cruise ship that landed in...More

Tetouan would be an option but I recommend you to take a taxi to safe time. I recommend highly the medina. Just go with the flow, it's a wonderful experience if you're open to the real Moroccan life.
