Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This fortress was one of the best restored places I have ever seen.
It has amazing views, an impressive structure and it had an authentic appeal.
We saw the fortress sign on our way to Viscri and we decided to enter.
It was a great decision for us because we discovered an amazing place in Romania, of which we knew nothing about.
It wasn't promoted in any websites about Brasov or Brasov surroundings and that's a pity.
We received from the lady at the ticket office a small book with the history of the place and the surroundings and also a map with other fortresses and Fortified old churches in the area.
The ticket price was 15 RON .

The restoration was solid, but I had the feeling of an empty space. It worth a visit, but they could use the inner space better. Price is affordable while the road till there is not so great!
Nothing to buy as souvenirs!

The Feldioara fortress can be spotted from the main road from/to Brasov. We were on our way to Viscri when we saw it and upon our return to Brasov decided to stop by.
We didn't regret it. It was rebuilt recently, it opened its gates again in 2018. Personally, I was impressed to find out that we really invested time and money to restore a historic site.
From the entrance the guide welcomed us warmly and presented the history of the fortress, what we were about to see and the why's and who's behind its story. She was a very nice person. Also she handed us some materials with further info about the fortress and a map with all key attractions around Tara Barsei. Good to have for a future trip.
Inside the fortress you could hear medieval music, which created a nice atmosphere. I got goosebumps :). The view from the towers is impressive. There are pics from before during and after restoration and you could see the work involved.
There are also exhibitions with objects from the community of Feldioara and stories about the role of the community throughout time. Also there is a room dedicated to the history of Teutons with a couple of representative objects exhibited.
The entrance is 15 lei for adults and 5 for students, kids and seniors. I would recommend you stop by. It takes about 30 minutes to climb the stairs to the towers and walk around the inner yard.

this is well preserved/restored and is an easy walk from old town. it is well organized with many signs in English. the church is old and simple but very fascinating because it is so original.

A very impressive reconstruction of a fortress which was in ruins until a few years ago. Only 10 RON to enter - a bargain.

The place looks and feels new and not very authentic. From what I read it was an important castle of Transylvania. Hopefully in time the exhibitions will be more generous and the new restoration materials will age and look more genuine...

excelent remaking. Fabulous work to recreate a 900 years fortress build by the Teuton KNiights. Excelent historical pieces: shields, helmets, swords. The hill offer a great view over the "Tara Barsei" region. Tara Barsei is the historical regions which is cencentrated around the Brasov town. Feldioara fortress and the Feldioara village is a must see objective.

Feldioara Fortress has been reconstructed almost entirely and now it looks really great. In my opinion, it is a must see if you are passionate about history. You can find a lot of information about the place and also some historical objects that are specific to the area. View is great too, being built in a strategic place.
Entrance is 15 lei.

The fortress has been basically rebuilt completely so everything is new but it’s a great experience for understanding medieval fortresses. Don’t miss it if you’re in the area.
