Looks better now

The fort was renovated some time ago and it looks much better now. There is a small entrance free, easily accessible by car, large enough parking. Nice activity in a sunny day.

Unlike some fortresses, this is the real deal. There is a small entrance fee, but plenty to see. There are some great city views. However, some of the arches are pretty low, so be careful as I hit my head on one of them. There are stairs to get to the top and the place itself is very clean. There... More

Built in an imposing strategical position this recently restored castle has a lot to offer to the visitor. Intact bastions and walls. Even living quarters and a dungeon

This is a watch tower that was part of the old city fortress. It is on a small hill and requires a bit of climbing up.

Appears to have been overly renovated - it looks almost unreal. It looks amazing on the hill, but we decided not to come in. It costs 10 lei and appears to be quite large inside.

I have been here several times. It looks much nicer from below. My problem with the place is that is empty: once you pay your entrance fee and enter the fortress, nothing happens. It was almost completely rebuilt and they did not even bother to hide the electric plugs in the so-called medieval building. :( All the bastions and buildings... More

We stumbled upon this castle by chance, we saw it from the road and decided it is worth the stop. It is a nice castle, ok preserved and the panoramic view from the top is nice. If you are in the area it is worth to stop.

This hilltop castle is quite a distance from Brasov, but is worth a visit. It was built over a couple of centuries and has three "rings" of development, each successive ring covering a larger area.
