Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's nice area close to the center of Sibiu. The walls are very well preserved. You can also take some great pictures there. A must see.

From the perspective of the fortifications of Sibiu - a little is left today still standing - much more than in Timisoara for instance - still worth taking a look and imagine how the fortifications of the most important Saxon city of Transylvania once looked like.
The Saxon colonized Transylvania stating from the 13th century upon the invitation of the Hungarian kings ... they brought with them a way of life, a will to work and a new standard ... in the 15th century Sibiu was already the most important town in Transylvania.
Now as per today from the fortress is not much left - but still the portion along the Corneliu Coposu Blvd is a definite must see ... a bit more degraded since my last visit , a bit more graffities but still beautiful .... when you are in Sibiu check these out will worth a few pics.

I absolutely loved the fortress walls. It was easy to get lost in your thoughts while walking along this defensive structure.

Little si left from the medieval fortifications that once were protecting the mighty city of Sibiu. Times have changed, the ages passed and today only fragments of the fortress walls can be found.
Still if you are into history I would say you need to take a guided tour of the city and than you will be able to learn about the fortifications - how the system worked - how it got modernized during the habsburgs and what is left in the 21st century that you can still see for yourself.
Once more these wall sections (from the 2nd and 3rd wall of the city) are another landmark that you shall include in your Sibiu tour.

Feel free to explore Sibiu, one of the most amazing cities in Romania. The history of the place and the architecture of the buildings intertwined and gives the traveler an amazing experience.

Very well preserved historical defence walls and towers of Sibiu. Nice area to walk in if you want to relax as it is near a park.

We had a fun day walking along the walls and seeing all of the towers. It is easy to walk the entire town in a day and get some n ice photos along the way.

The walls are part of Sibiu's history and they now separate the old town from the modern city. The former medieval defence frotifications give Sibiu its charm and this is only the beginning of it!
