Pobite Kamani or the Stone Forest or the Petrified forest, is a really nice place, especially with not many tourists. We arrived around 9-10 am, and it was all for us (May). I think it gave us a better experience. Be sure to read about...More

An interesting place located 15 minutes by car from Varna. It is not suitable for a visit during the hot hours of the day. In immediate proximity to the stone formations there is a forest with suitable picnic areas.

The Stone forest is a very beautiful place to see. It's like a small desert with stones, made it by the nature about 5 million years ago.

We saw this as part of an all-day tour out of Varna. We enjoyed the site but there's not that much to it. The fascination of the Stone Forest is that it used to be the bottom of the sea. It's a nice place to...More

As the name implies: a forest of stone columns. It looks like the ruins of an ancient temple, although it's entirely natural. We were there in the low season, almost alone, and the place oozes a mystique that's rare in other places. The more you...More

A place with a high energy and a kind of mysticism. There are different theories about the origin and lots of interesting legends for this place.

Preferably by car as public bus transport is available to nearby village Slanchevo only. From there you have to walk about a mile to Stone Forest. If you won't have a rented car get a taxi. The hotel reception can arrange it... More
