So we paid the entry ticket, but it was below average. No information panels anywhere, the theatre was dirty... luckily the price is acceptable, but I was expecting more.

Good place to see. Is very easy to find with a local map. Is almost in the center of old town with a beautiful view. We went at night and it was closed. Is nice to read the story of the theater.

I find it such a pity that I was only able to visit this place in the afternoon, when there was a group of dancers rehearsing for their piece later that day. I liked it so much; the view, the atmosphere the rehearsing dancers. It was just the perfect balance of culture and history.

All I will say is that a cocktail is a must (Harry Peter is delish) on the outside of the amphitheater. The scene is Grand. I've seen a Verdi opera in the summer and the experience was beyond!

There is no entry fees to this attraction and can be easily reached where any where in Sofia. Certain areas of the theatre are cordoned off to general public , but you wont miss much even if those places are missed.

Perfect location in the hearth of Old city of Plovdiv. Acoustic of the natural surroundings of cliffs stones and trees under the open sky with stars is creating unforgettable atmosphere. Going back over the centuries of history and thinking of how many great acts and performances have been happening at this place. This is the oldest city of Europe and... More

The Plovdiv Roman Theatre is one of the worlds best preserved ancient theatres. It was constructed in the time of Roman Emperor Trajan (98-117 AD) and is still in use today. It can hold 5000-7000 spectators. The theatre was damaged by Attila the Hun in the 5th century. It is in the centre of Plovdiv and is certainly one of... More

I visited Plovdiv Roman Theatre in the evening, for an opera "The Flying Dutchman". I really liked acoustics, charming view & romantic surrounding. Opera was in Bulgarian language and translation in English wasn't provided, also show wasn't the best, had a feeling that few rehearsals were missing.
