Luckily we went when the weather was fantastic - tickets were very reasonable and we had a magical evening watching a Dutch group perform various pieces from different operas, accompanying an amazing violinist on his stradivarius.

You can easily admire the Theatre from above and avoid the small admission fee. Mrs. went in, and I stayed upstairs and had a drink at the little cafe. Uncovered only in 1972 during a landslide. The theatre hosts some special events and concerts.

What a awesome place. Coming from Italy we are used to see places like this one, but the fact that we were not imagining to see something similar over there makes this place impressive the way more. We visited it at 9am, just at the...More

Quite a good bit of Roman ruin but closed on the day of our visit. Site is used for various functions and was being prepared for some sort of concert. We still had a good view from the metal railings

My favorite place in Plovdiv! There is a small cosy coffee just above the theater and a man can enjoy the view or some of the the performances or music festivals and concerts! This place still carries the atmosphere of the old roman times!

We walked there yesterday and they were rehearsing for a Folk Festival. The sound of the Music was very clear and you could see the dancers practising for that night. If you want to visit inside it would cost 5 bgm their currency. We could...More

I haven't seen a ramp for wheelchairs and in general the access to the place to start with will be very tricky - the old town is mostly laid with cobble stones and on foot it can be tricky, let alone with a helping vehicle... More
