This church is rich in interior decoration, and numerous icons show centuries-old care of its decoration. If you enter during the ceremony be sura to respect ancient custom of local people.

Honouring the venerated St. Nedelya, the present construct was built in the early 1830s, replacing an earlier smaller one from the previous century.

It is most impressive and one of the largest in the country. The fine belfry was added in 1905.

This is an ornate working church at the end of Vitosha Boulevard & it’s very emotional to see all the pictures & candles that have been left in remembrance of the departed.
It’s well worth spending half an hour or so to visit & just admire the interior.
