Outstanding opera company

I went to a performance of Rigoletto here, described to me as a "only a regular" performance (ie, without special stars, though it turned out that the Rigoletto was a guest and one of the finest singers in Bulgaria). It was outstanding. All the singing was beautiful (not a single bad voice), the acting excellent, and the orchestra very fine. The standard was much more than I expected - after all, this is a provincial house, not in the capital city - and this performance would stand up well in all but the top international houses. If you're in Plovdiv, try to catch a performance - you won't be disappointed.
