I was lucky and dropped into see this church while a baptism was occurring. An American was marrying a Bulgarian the next day and was being baptized today. Beautiful church and ceremony! .

Worth a visit while in Plovdiv of course but its nothing special compared to some churches here. You can of course buy and light candles should you wish

Visited on a Saturday and managed to see a wedding taking place which made it a very special visit. Very ornate with gold everywhere. Was a good experience.

When you are climbing the hill to reach the ancient theather you will notice a magnificient church on your left side. Imressive architecture, especially the tower part.

Stunningly beautiful orthodox cathedral. Do not miss. It will be actually hard to miss it. It's big and it is at the doorsteps of the old town. If you're lucky in the weekends you can do some wedding
