Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited here on a rainy day and appreciated the chance to duck inside. It's set a bit off the main street, near the New Muslim Cemetery. Prices had been difficult to find online, so I'll note that when we visited we paid 10 KM per person. The museum also closes relatively early, at least on a Wednesday in late May when we visited - it closed at 4 PM.
We were the only visitors to the museum, and didn't have a guide. We were just happy to look around, but the man taking our tickets basically gave us a private tour. It started with a short movie which we quite enjoyed. We saw plenty of views and souvenirs of the Old Bridge in town, but this was the only place we saw the footage of the artillery fire and the eventual crumbling of the bridge into the river - very moving! It also showed older footage of the original bridge, as well as scenes from its reconstruction and eventual re-opening. We really enjoyed the movie!
The rest of the museum is pretty small, without much by way of English signage, but we were given a nice little tour. We saw artifacts from ancient times, displays of life in the area in more of a medieval period, and a room with photos of a prime minister of Yugoslavia who died tragically in a plane crash. We didn't catch his name at the time but looked it up later - Džemal Bijedić; he was born in Mostar and the museum in in his former home.
Overall we spent about 45 minutes here (plus another 15 when they kindly let us sit in their covered entryway while we looked out at the falling rain) and were happy we'd taken the chance to stop by.

Not huge, but packed with fascinating details - life in Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian and more recent eras, photos, room recreations and a lovely model village.

Defintely worth a visit. Unfortunately, we had insufficient time (only 30 minutes) since we had to meet our tour group. The caretaker guided us through the museum personally and provided excellent perspective while pointing out the most important exhibits. We're very happy we decided to step inside.

In August we were the obly visitors, infact the museum is not tourist-friendly at all: not so easy to find, there are no signs which can lead you to it and it's hidden from the main street. There is plate at the entrance but we have got the impression that the staff is not going out of their way to have more visitors. Besides, it is sometimes closed, so check opening times. The visit began with a video about the destruction and reconstruction of the starij most. In the other rooms you can see various kinds of exhibits about the history of Bosnia and Hercegovina and upstairs thare are some rooms which have been recreated with traditional furniture and clothes. The museum is small, so an hour is enough to visit everything carefully.

I wonder if this museum is actually just forced to be open because it received grants as there isn’t much on display apart from a few artefacts ( the receptionist was too unmotivated to explain much about museum, so not even sure if it continued in another building).
We spent no more than 10 minutes there and left feeling like we made a donation rather than paid an entry fee to see something.
Not worth the visit!

It's a very small museum but when you're paying €2.50 you can't complain. The language of some of the articles is slightly difficult to understand due to the translation but overall they are very informative.
The man who was on the ticket desk was also very pleasant and gave a very personal insight into the war. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a small museum for 2.50€. Great views from the top of the bridge and shops. Below they have films. A nice stop for a few minutes.

Surely worth a visit. The museum shows what the war in "Bosnia" did to the city. You could cry your heart out. Afterwards you ought to walk around the city to see the actual damage - there is still a lot to see. And we let all this happen.

The movie in the beginning shows an interesting summary of how the recent war had impact and was mitigated later on. Not so easy to get everything with an English language, but impression is ok.
