Really moving experience . Must do in Mostar!
I am left speechless by some of the artefacts shared here. Items have been preserved very well and are explained in great details. I would highly recommend visiting this small but resourceful museum.some of the stories shared here are bone-chilling and I must say that you may have to be strong to go through some of the details. All in all - A must do for your trip to Mostar.
Dear visitor we are happy to hear that we left a good impression on you. Reality of the war awakens the deepest of the feelings in a human being, our visitors are true example that confirms this statement.

    Intense
This is definitely worth a stop when visting Mostar. The curators have done a very clever job of turning a house into an immersive and even interactive experience. It coudl be overwhelming even though it's small because of the intensity and the insanity of what is portrayed.
    Thank you for your comment.

    Highly recommend!
This was a very moving and interesting experience. It doesn't look very big from the outside but if you stop to watch the videos and read the information, you could easily spend a couple of hours. But be prepared for an emotional journey! Especially after you have walked the streets of Mostar and the famous old bridge. I won't forget this experience and the extremely lovely host, Menvirsa who welcomed us warmly. Thank you, hvala
Thank you for such heartful review, we are happy that we have left nice immpresion on you.

Incredibly interesting and well worth a visit.
This museum is incredibly interesting and well worth a visit. It's very well done, and although very sad, also very important to understand what happened and make sure it doesn't happen again. I highly recommend a visit.

    Unexpected visit
We were visiting Mostar and came across this museum and felt we should go in to try and get an explanation as to the conflicts which occurred in this area. The museum really helped explain them with pictures and displays that were harrowing showing how the poor people suffered. Would really recommend a visit to anyone in the area

    Must
A relatively small museum that's packed full of objects pertaining to the 90's wars in Bosnia. A few documentary movies that are very impactful and show the visitor a clear picture of the atrocities that happened there. Be prepared, because the subject is very sensitive and you'll probably get very emotional. The best part is that the staff that works there really loves what they do and believe in the mission of this museum: may it never happen again.
Thank you so much for your kind words.

An incredibly well equipped museum that leaves a big impression on whoever decides to visit. You could easily spend hours and hours immersed in this thematic of the Yugoslav wars. The staff were very attentive and extremely helpful. 10/10 would recommend.

Visited last week with family. The exhibit is very emotional and educational. It's also always evolving. The Museum does a very important work on presenting the horrors of was from the perspective of civilians, people who went through it all. When you get up close with personal belongings and stories of the people who have lost everything, even their lives it has to have a profound impact on anyone. Would highly recommend.
    Thank you for your recommendation.

Very moving insight into the country’s recent history
This museum is a must-visit when in Mostar. The exhibits are very raw and touching, and include honest stories and items from the conflict. After our visit, we had an even more raw and emotional conversation with the staff there, which was both heartbreaking and inspiring. It really is a privilege to learn about Bosnia and Herzegovina’s recent history from the people who experienced it first-hand. Thank you.
Thank you for your understanding and compassion.

It was such a harrowing and emotional experience connecting with the real life stories of the atrocities that took place during the war. I feel this museum should be an essential stop for anyone visiting Bosnia to gain better understanding of the country’s history and people. Great care has been taken to share family histories in a sensitive and skilful manner. The staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. I’d rate this museum 6 stars if I could!

A must see Museum in Mostar. It shows what happened in Bosnia during the war 92-95, especially focused on things in and around Mostar. It has some tiny rooms, but it is very well organised. Since Mostar is very warm during the summer, inside of the Museum is very good spot to hide.

the museum gives you a clear overview and explanation of all the horrible things that happened in this war. Everything is well presented and it hard not to get emotional looking at the images and the video material. For anyone who is interested in history and this war, this museum is a must.

Incredibly well build stories and presentations for the terrors towards Bosnian people espeacially from the views of local people. Left there with lot of emotions. I can very highly recommend it to anyone visiting the town, no matter on the knowledge of the history at Balkan wars.

The museum is full of factual information & the artefacts & stories of many victims, survivors & witnesses of the conflict. Not only war artefacts but also significant items symbolising people’s identities that were shaped by the war (particularly clothing). Each item has an explanatory note in the local language & English. The voices are haunting but I am glad that they are being heard.
The images, videos & stories are graphic. I was horrified & moved to tears by what I saw.
Do be mindful of when to visit, it’s hard to imagine anyone not being affected by it.
It is harrowing but it is also very important to recognise what this country & its people have been through.
As I left, I hugged the remarkable lady who works there (I’m sorry that I didn’t catch her name). She shared some of her personal experiences with me & can only begin to imagine what she has been through. I asked her about working here amongst such painful reminders & she said for her it has established a community. She knows everyone who has provided an artefact or story for the museum & they have essentially created a collective memorial. This stuff can’t just be buried. They understand, support & encourage one another & that must be a very positive thing whilst navigating the lifelong effects of such trauma.
I will never truly understand the scale of what happened here & why. It is impossible to comprehend but I felt the need to visit this museum & I’m very glad I did.

It's a must see if you're in Mostar! Very touching and heartbreaking museum, you need around 2 hours to go through everything. I don't recommend to rush, the stories are so heavy to read, you need some time to get over this emotionally :)

I cannot rate this museum highly enough. Although small inside it is certainly not lacking in content. The man who worked at the museum (who’s name I did not get) was absolutely amazing, he was so welcoming and informative, it was a pleasure to meet him. I was shocked and horrified at the atrocities that were pictured in the museum, some of which were very graphic, so I’d bare that in mind before going. Saying that, it is an important insight into the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I’m glad I had the opportunity to visit.

This is a museum you cannot miss when in Mostar. It is a very tough museum to visit, especially the films, but it is worth visiting. There is an area for Srebrenica, a section with very heavy stories and a bunker. If you read everything it will probably take 3 hours. It is interesting and very informative.
