If possible, do this walk on one of your cooler days in Kotor as it's a tricky climb when the sun's out. We did it around lunch time and it was tough going at times. The steps are for the most part of good quality...More

A must do if you're in Kotor and are able to climb all the stairs. The view is breathtaking, nust as good as the pictures. Only thing ruining the pictures are the huge ferries that comes in to the port.

This is an exciting program in Kotor. To reach the top we had to climb almost 40 minutes but it definitely worth it. The entrance fee was 8 euro. If you visit Kotor in the summer, it is recommended to start the tour before 10...More

I've done this extreme stair master a few times and it's always amazing. I've been in the summer during tourist season and late fall and it's the same price year round 3 euros. But deffinently bring water and maybe even a light snack. It's a...More

We started the walk in the early evening and I really enjoyed the climb up, though we had to take frequent breaks--a great opportunity to take photos. The views are great but watch your footing, it can be slippery and some stones are loose. Unfortunately...More

Great walk up the hill - although some basic repairs to the steps (do NOT try this in the wet!) would not go amiss to make it slightly less 'dicey' to make it up/down. They are also missing out on adding some signage at key...More

I was told it was over a thousand steps to the fortress. I didn't count, but a thousand seems like a reasonable number. It is a hot, challenging walk. But worth it. Take water!!

Ideally, the best time to attempt this is early morning before it gets too hot, but as we were only here for two days and thunderstorms were forecast for the following morning we braved the heat on our first afternoon and it was so worth...More

We loved our hike up to the fortress. Despite many reviews telling us to go early, we slept in and reached the peak just after midday. We decided to try find the free route and it was very easy to find. Search “ladder of Kotor”...More

Entrance is straight from a side street, there was no gate or barrier although 'ticket collectors' arrive about 8 o'clock and set up a table where they sell tickets at 3 euro. It is best to walk in the morning as it is still... More
