Beautiful view of the city and harbor from the top of the wall

The walls are well preserved and you can walk most of the wall with great views of the city and harbor. I believe there may be several ways to get to the top of the wall but... read more

The walls are well preserved and you can walk most of the wall with great views of the city and harbor. I believe there may be several ways to get to the top of the wall but the easiest and most noticeable set of stairs was by the Kampana Tower and Citadel. We were able to walk most of the... More

The views are amazing. You should time your journey up so that you can see the sunrise or sunset. You should absolutely take water with you, but if you didn't there are sometimes people selling bottled water on the way up. And beware of fatigue. Reserve about 2 hours maybe a bit more. I was there in September and it... More

As tough as it is to climb the steep city walls, you'll be rewarded for your efforts with panoramic views across the Bay and Old City. Take plenty of water with you, comfortable shoes (not sandals/flip flops) and make sure you go in the morning or later afternoon to avoid the heat of the day.

These amazing old walls were built so long ago, yet still sturdy and allow you to get great views of the town and area. Worth going up to see the views.

I think that is where they make the most wedding photos in whole Montenegro :). It is a magical place and deserves all the attention for tourism development.

All city walls of Kotor are realy unique. Very steep and high above sea, two times older than complete american history. Makes a visitor to feel like in mediveal ages. Gazing the bay and expexting old sail ships from Venice. Really something.

The Kotor walls are wide and are not terribly high; they can be reached from wide staircases beside the main square of the old city without paying. The view of modern Kotor from the walls included derelict apartments buildings, and the view of old Kotor was not terribly better - there was a nice view of the church bell tower... More

Stunning city. Beautiful ancient architecture. Amazing history surrounding this fortress. We had a delightful, insightful visit to a beautifull city.

What a remarkable walled city. This is pretty isolated with the sheer cliffs surrounding the bay, but in the way back days fortifications were obviously necessary. The fortress overlooked the walled city. The gates on three points only. Businesses butting up against the walls with souvenier objects.

Enjoy the atmosphere around the castle including the old walls. Just walk along and don`t forget to take photos.
