The bay of Kotor is beautiful! With the surrounding mountains in the background of every view, it is hard not to enjoy. The inbound cruise ships really put into perspective the size and beauty of the landscape.

Another town with shops houses cafes and churches all contained within its medieval walls. A lovely place with beautiful waterfront. The streets are very narrow but quite cool in the extreme heat with many cafes to enjoy lunch or just freshly squeezed lemonade. A place...More

I had never really heard of the bay of Kotor until we started looking into Montenegro for a break. What can I say. It's like being in the Norwegian fjords for scenery the way the mountains rise so high out of the lake. Get yourself...More

The Bay of Kotor is just beautiful set amongst the mountains on three sides. The mountains are covered with trees with houses set on the sides. Cruise ships come right into the port with the town within a 2 minute walk.

I am hoping to visit Kotor with family in Sept/Oct but would like to know a couple of things if possible: Does the area have alot of hills? Would it be a problem for elderly people? For reference, is it comparable to Dubrovnik for its hills? Is car rental necessary? Thanks in advance.

Kotor, lies at the furthest most point of the "Bay of Kotor", a fjord style lake, one of the deepest in the Mediterranean with steep mountains that come down almost to the shore. The town is a jumble of maze-like medieval... More

We 4 have quite busy visits on other cruise ports but would like advice on how to experience some of the beauty of this town/area/bay in a relaxed way. What should we not miss out. We are there 14.00 - 20.00 in September.

Having driven the entire bay I would suggest focusing on Kotor itself. Saying you have only six hours I would suggest the old town, and then later in the day possibly a climb up above the town to the vantage point with the... More
