Prospekt Svibody or Freedom Avenue is the man strip in the center of Lviv.f This area is filled with benches on both sides, flower garden, statued, restaurants and fast food outlets on one side of the strip. On both sides are beautiful buildings and in the middle area there are many people who just sit and enjoy the evening or live performances. The opera house is at the top of the avenue. It is just a beautiful area where you'll find most tourists and young people gathering anytime throughout the day as it is always filled with people. It is a very popular area in Lviv.

I had the good luck of visiting ;Lviv, when the weather was fine and sunny, which helped of course to make this interesting and beauty avenue to impress even more. In the center of it one finds the statue of the poet Taras Shevchenko. At one side Prospekt Svobody is bordered by the old center of town with an impressive backdrop of historical buildings.
It was quite lively, but not too crowded, with people strolling around or sitting on the benches. During my stay I also took the opportunity simply to sit there and relax, enjoying the surroundings.

What a wonderful park for just hanging out and watching people. Lots of comfortable benches, people playing in the fountain, posing for photos, kids on scooters or kicking footballs with their parents, we saw an event involving several bands playing traditional and other music, lots of people showing off their traditional embroidered clothes. We spent several enjoyable hours here on our recent trip to Lviv. A very lively place, anchored on one end by the fountain and Opera House. Btw, the park was unbelievably clean, and felt very safe, unlike I’ve seen in some other cities recently. Lots of restaraunts and museums along either side, too. If you like traditional costume, check out the costume Collection on the top floor of the Opera Passage shopping center, and the really cool sewing store with the massive collection of vintage buttons and braid and beading supplies. Both are a few doors up from the McDonalds.

This avenue has lots of green trees, you will find a few legendary restaurants on it, those from the must visit list. It's not crowded comparing to other center streets.

There is a nice wide walking area in the middle of this popular street in Lviv. There is a market in front of the Opera at the north end of the street, which is fun to look at, although most of the products are junk. It's also entertaining to watch the kids ride around in the motorized cars around the fountain. Lots of good people watching here.

Prospekt Svobody is the main artery of Lviv: at one end is it's heart, the Lviv Opera and Ballet Theater; at the other it's soul, a monument to Taras Shevchenko, poet, artist, hero, the father of Ukrainian prose. All along the centre promenade of the street you'll see people sitting n benches, playing chess, selling balloons and pony rides. Life flows through the avenue unlike anywhere else in the city.

Prospekt Svobody is the main avenue of Lviv. In the middle there's wide sidewalk in which there are many benches. There are always many people, on weekends it's sometimes closed to traffic and on that time it's crowded. From one side Prospekt starts with a beautiful building of Lviv Opera House and next to it there's a fountain. From the other side Prospekt ends with a statue of Adam Mickiewicz. There're some restaurants and shops, it's next to old town and market square.

Go there, if you wish to see the Lviv Opera and Taras Shevchenko's monument. Otherwise, it has many cafes and shops.

Prospekt Svobody is the central street in Lviv. The streets are projected in such a way, that all smaller streets nearby will bring you to Prospect Svobody. The Opera House is the main building here. Tho the back of Opera House the Old City is situated. To the front of Opera House, you can find the Shevchenko monument with its mini-copy. To the left of Opera, there is Maria Zankovetska theatre, Vernisazh souvenir market, cinema Kinopalace. If you turn left, you will find one of the greatest streets - Horodotska, which will take you to the St. Anna Church, Circus, St. George Church, St. Elisabeth Cathedral and Central Train station. If you go forward from Opera House, you will see the Mitskevych Monument, then you will come to King Danylo monument and find the way to Shevchenko Prospekt. Rynok Square is to the left side from Prospekt Svobody.
