A fine building right in the centre of town. Currently there is a very splendid sculpture which has visited other towns in Croatia. Splendid views from upstairs gallery and beautiful, very old architecture.

Very rich in history, and the staff taking the entrance fee was very knowledgeable and helpful. Worth 30 minutes of your time, to immerse yourself in a little history.

9th century church near the Roman forum and ruins. Great acoustics in this round church. Beautiful architecture and interesting history.

You have to travel further north into Catholic territory, or European colonizers to see prettier church interiors and fancier exterior architecture. Plain octagonal, or maybe it feels round, right next to the main Roman forum (ruins). Byzantine Romanesque, definitely of an earlier era.

Impressive structure and sad that it is no longer a place of worship and you have to pay to enter. The tower offers a wonderful view of Zadar if you are up to the climb.
