Start at the top floor and work your way down through the ages, from pre-historic to modern times. Many (most?) signage included English, so it's easy to follow.

The museum has a truly remarkable exhibition not only of roman remainings, but covers everything from the Stone age to Middle ages and later.

Split may have TWO archeological museums and this one does not have so many exhibits like these, but it is well worth a visit

The museum was well laid out and had some interesting exhibits - particularly the top floor. Came away knowing a lot more about Zadar's history (which is obviously the point).

No it isn't, there is a small charge which I do not remember but it is worth it.
