This is the gate opened in northern part of city walls in 1907. as an access for Austrian soldiers. You can see it form Prijeko looking in the direction of the Rudjer Bošković street.

Great bar, lots of atmosphere right on the edge of old city wall right above the sea. Great place to have sunset drinks. Cash only and pricy (no glasses - paper cups instead). And good luck finding the entrance through the maze of the old city, there’s no sign just an open historic metal gate.

Its one of the 3 old gates into the old city and probably the least iconic of the bunch. The Pile gate is obviously the best of the gates followed by Ploce gate.
Still, if you need to enter the old town, it obviously enables you to accomplish that feat.

Advice:
The steep stairs are arm and thigh killers when lugging your luggages. By experience (since we tried two different hotels in Old Town), I highly recommend looking for a hotel on Buza Gate.
Pros:
-least crowded of all 3 gates
-no stairs to climb UP to since you’re on the highest platform of the Old Town (you will walk down instead). You’re literally on the wall.
-Cable Car ticket stores are located on both sides of the gate (entrance/exit)
-Game of Thrones store is on the Buza Street
-Leonie Trattoria has a reasonably-priced and very tasty menu. Try the tiramisu!
Cons:
-if you rent a car, there’s a very small parking lot. But I think it’s for residents-only. However, if you rent a moped there’s definitely parking. It seems most people who work within the walls travel mainly on mopeds.

Its definitely one way to get into the old town, but we actually liked both sides gates better. It gives you a better feeling once you get in on the lower levels.

This Gate on Northern side of city has a very small parking area best for drop off/pick up but not much more.
It is by far the least busy Gate & is where the Cable Car ticket office & entrance is located.
Everything is down hill/steps so if you have luggage choose a place up here on Peline to prevent lugging gear.
Where ever you go you will encounter steps.
We had the fortune to check out Dubrovnik at end of our cruise & realised our planned accommodation was on the southern side ... a headache with luggage. They gave us the flick ( fortunately) & we were able to tee up another BnB on Peline ... phew ... for our return visit in a weeks time. That worked out well.
Reward yourself after your 'descent' to Stradun, with a coffee or breakfast at "Portun".
Plenty of other restaurants around. "PeePee" was always busy & sits on top of Peline. ( Don't ask about the origin of the name ).

This gate is one of the most if not the most important access point to the Old Town of Dubrovnik and the only one with parking and great local food

Buza (hole) gate is a place where many tourists see inside Dubrovnik Old Town for the first time. It is much younger than the other two City gates (Pile and Ploce). Buza was made by Austrian soldiers at the beginning of the 20th century.
As you may imagine it is much easier to go down Buza to reach Stradun than up to 113 of Buza stairs.

You have two choices to get to the cable car, go around outside of the walls by walking or car/taxi/uber or walk up from inside the walls up the steps and then through this gate up to the cable car about two more blocks up.
This gate is pretty non-descript compared to the other two main gates but is still worth seeing if for no other reason as access to the Northern part of the city and the Cable Car. There is some history from about 120 years ago when the wall was put in.
I wouldnt go seek this out but it was interesting nonetheless.

Buza gate also known as Vrata od Buže is a northern entrance to the Old Town. It is located near (5a few minutes walk) to the cable car. Open in the 1900’s under Austro-Hungarian Empire rule. During our visit, there were very few people around the gate and it did not seem to be used. From the main (Pile) Gate, it took us around 15 minutes to walk around to gain access to this side. We original attempted to get a bus outside the city to the MOMAD attraction neat the cable car, but busses were scarce during our visit. We therefore re-entered the city via the Buza Gate Once inside, there are narrow streets leading back down to the old town with impressive photographic views, as well as a number of small shops, located in the alleys leading back down to the old town.

Could be difficult to find and we came upon it by chance. Positioned in the old town on the west side between the city walls and the sea. Go early to get a table. Only takes cash!
